Hostess Ding Dongs are a great option for a small, quick sugar fix. The cake is moist, the chocolate is tasty, and the filling is the shining star. This is a superb portion-control snack to include with a packed lunch, just enough to satisfy the sweets cravings. I understand there are 'healthier' snacks but sometimes you must commit to a guilty pleasure. Plus, these ding dongs are hard to beat as a nostalgic experience - I remember fondly opening my brown paper bag lunch in grade school and finding that my mom had secretly included a ding dong along with my other food. As a riff on the knock, knock joke here's one: Ding dong! Who's there? Drake's Ring Dings. Drake's Ring Dings who? Exactly! Hostess is Kendrick Lamar to Drake's Drake. Actually, no, that's not fair to Drake's.

oh man these taste awesome.. they are so good that I suggested to a buddy in England that he should find where he can buy some.. now I've been eating these since the 70s when they were a bargain.. now a days you get 16 in a box barely bigger than when you only got 12..

Hostess Ding Dong Chocolate Snack Cakes are loved by family member's taste buds, but I would not eat them. The snack cakes are delicious but are unnecessary calories and replace more nutritional choices. Sometimes a person wants a comfort food but there are other choices. At least have with milk and try to have just one!

They seemed stale. The cake inside was not soft at all. I've brought these before and felt the same way... each time I get ding dongs, which I forgot about how the cake part seemed stale and yep... nothing changed... still stale. It has to be how they're made and not from being old.

Yuck! These aren't the delicious traditional Ding Dongs of the past. Firstly, they do not look like the pictures on the box. They have a paper think layer of bland chocolate on the outside, cheap bland tasting cake layer, and a horribly synthetic tasting white filling. Second, they lack a decent sweetness overall. I did not lose my sense of taste or smell during the pandemic, so that isn't informing my review. Bottom line: Subpar, and in my opinion, a big waste of money. Poorly done Hostess.

these ding dongs are made different these days. the chocolate coating doesn't even fully coat the entire snak cake the cake part shows right through like nothing. these is the 3rd package i got and the same way. these companies are becoming more and more cheap makes me not want to ourchade anymore and my box was opened when i received it

I buy these all the time. My 9 yr old loves them, but this time they were nasty. I ate one that looked funny, tasted dry and stale. I decided to check the expiration and they expired the day before we got our order. expired Jan 8, 2026. That means theyve been sitting on the shelf for a long long time. Took 2 out to inspect, they are dry, nasty and the chocolate is developing that dry grayish white film that old chocolate develops when its very old. Gross!

I ordered this through grocery pick up, they clearly didn't take the time or care to check the product out. The box was smashed up a bit and opened. Upon receiving it I counted the cakes it was one short and 1 smashed and finally an empty package like someone had eaten it and stuck it back in the box! Check your items folks are getting sloppy!

Ding Dongs were fresh, expiration date one month from today. However, either the shopper or delivery driver totally mangled the box, ripped it open, and STOLE 4 Ding Dongs! Walmart refunded, but they should not have thieves delivering FOOD!

I had them delivered and my box was crushed. I live in a rural area that's why I had them delivered. I can't get a replacement because the nearest FedEx drop off is where Walmart is and I don't have a lable or money to mail them back. product is good but not all crushed up.
