FrankenCake Was a Hit!
What a fun sweet treat for my granddaughter to celebrate Halloween! How great that Hostess did a great green for their cupcakes, "FrankenCakes"! Not too scary for our 3 year old. One was enough, it filled her up! The entire box of lasted 3 weeks for her!

Halloween Hostess Cupcakes
They tasted like they always have, but the cake itself was too dry and the icing on top wasn't like it used to be. The cream filling was as good as it's always been. I'm still a Hostess fan.

I recommend these because they are cheap.
I recommend these because they are cheap. Understand that they are cheap for a reason: they are pretty beat up if you take them on delivery, they are dry with extra-firm frosting that makes a mess when it cracks and falls - it actually makes an audible crunch when you bite. They are, however, otherwise cute for Halloween and have a fairly good amount of pastry cream to help a bit with the dryness. I picked them up near the end of the season, so they were on a good sale. Were they at full price, I might not be as "generous" with my recommendation.

Hostess Halloween cupcakes
Not as good as I'd hoped, for being “Hostess” brand. Cake was dry, frosting was hard, and very sweet with only a taste of sugar, not really flavorful.
