Hostess Zingers Snack Cakes, Artificially Flavored Iced Devil’s Food Cake, 12.7 oz Box (10 Count)

I have become addicted to these Zingers! I buy at least one, mostly two boxes every month. Ideal for that craving for just a little chocolate! Yum!

Although they are smaller than what I remember, that seems to be the case with many items these days. The icing on top was very sweet, which added to the sweetness of the very dense cake that was also very sweet in my opinion. The filling was a sticky marshmallow type cream that paired with the cake and icing made it a good combination. They were individually wrapped and that kept them moist, but they should be eaten within minutes of opening as they seemed to get dried out pretty quickly. The denseness of the cake allows them to be durable in lunchboxes and little hands.

The flavor is great and exactly what I expected. The cake part was tasty and soft. The frosting, while it tasted good, was pretty hard - almost like it was stale. It was fine once I was eating it, but the initial bite was surprising, especially since the cake part was fine and these were well within shelf life. That said, all in all they were super tasty and I enjoyed them thoroughly!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think these ZINGERS are smaller than I expected them to be. ( They are between 2-3 inches long. ) I wasn't a fan of the taste. They felt a little waxy and they didn't have much creme filling. I don't know that I would purchase these but I always say, if you want to try for yourself, that's the best way to find out if you will like something.

I like these Hostess Chocolate Zingers, but apparently someone else does as well.....not sure if it was the delivery person or the person bagging it for online delivery, but my box was opened and short of the count.....This has happened at other times like my yogurt.....My food order is not there to be sampled by workers.....JS.....

The cakes are alot smaller than they used to be.

These used to be pretty good. Frosting is hard like it expired 6 months ago. Use by date is 09/24, which is a month away so it should still be good. I'll be buying great value chocolate cupcakes next time, at least they're always fresh.
