Shipping was very fast - Thanks Walmart :) My son loves the engine sound. Can't speak to the durability of the bike, as we've only had for less than a month, but looking promising.
My 3.5 yrs old son loves to ride his new bike. He rides it almost everyday..
Bought this for my son for Christmas online. When I put it in the car I noticed there was an area on the handle bar that looked like paint ran down it. Parts had chipped off and were rusting already. Seems like something spilled on the bike or it was messed up when being made. Also the handle bar "gear shifter" gets stuck sometimes and it will go off by itself. Over all the bike functions well and does it job perfectly. My son has noticed the rust at all and loves the bike.
We bought the older version of the bike a while ago. It is lime green frame with "speed demon" stickers on it. 16" is a good size frame for someone who plans to try and ride without training wheels. this is a good platform for that transition. my son learned to ride without training wheels on this bike when he was 7. he is now 8 and about 48" tall and so even with the seat up it is too small for him. the bike is great for someone a little smaller and up to 48" height as they can still touch the ground when they need to with the seat lowered. hand throttle works fine.. KIDS LOVE IT. hand brake was ok but kind of a mute point on this size bike since most kids in this age don't have the hand size or grip strength to really use it. has no kick stand so plan on it being on the ground a lot when the training wheels come off. Not a bad a bike.. Lots of frills which at the age it's geared for is really what kids like.
I purchased this bike as a gift for my son and he loves it. Even though the bike was put together in store the training wheels were off so my husband had to make minor adjustments. Overall, it was a great buy.
My wife and I bought one for our son, we got it home only to find out that the tube in the back tire was shredded. It lost air as fast as it was pumped in. So we took it back and got a different one. As I was taking off the zip ties they put on it (built in the store) I noticed the handlebar rev gauge looked funny. I turned the handle and nothing happened, the arrow didn't move, no sound came out of it. So rather than take it back to the store I just took it off the hand bar and opened it up. Inside there were a few gears and none of them were synced up. Took about 15 min to diagnose and repair the problem. (minus one star) The bike has no kickstand, so if it's not being ridden it will lay on the side once your kid has moved out of training wheels. (minus one star) Also the handlebar break is a bit big. My son just turned 5 and he can't just extend the fingers on his left hand to grab the break. He has to "roll" his hand forward on the handle to reach the break. I'm sure he'll grow into this though. Overall though it's a $70 bike which I'm sure will be replaced in a year or two as he grows.
The rev gauge broke within 2 days
Bought this bike at the store for my 5 year old - first off - store charged me $79.97 --- NOT the sale price (I found that out after we got home!) Tire was low, we get home to air it up and it won't air up! (and we live an hour from the nearest walmart). So, I go to our local Western Auto and buy a new tube ($3.50), my husband fixes it because there was a HUGE hole in the tube and airs it up. All is good, right?!?! No. Within the first 2 hours of my 5 year old FINALLY getting to ride it - the tire itself blows out! A HuGe hole in the tire! I mean, really?!?!?! I am NOT buying a new tire! This bike WILL go back to the store! I didn't pay $80 for a bike to spend $20+ on repairs before he could even ride it!!!!!!!!!!
We put the bike together on Christmas Eve and the sound mechanism on the handlebars did not work correctly. A bit of a Christmas disappointment.
We bought this bike for my sons 6th birthday. The day we got it out of the box it was broken. The electronic piece on the handle bar was broken and the rear tire wouldn't hold air. Needless to say, my son was very upset and we ended up returning it to our store and letting him pick a different brand bike. The bike looks nice, but other than that, it's a waste of money.
