Hot Wheels ID Smart Track Kit

Recently received the hot wheels id smart track kit for my 9yr. The assembling of it was so easy he had little assistance with it. The product all in all is of good quality and he is very happy with it. Help keep him entertained for good couple of hours.

So my son was really excited when he got this, me a little less. Im not great with technology. But wow this was a piece of cake to set up and we had endless hours of fun with it together. Perfect way to end the summer holidays

The packaging that the track came in is really neat and easy to get out. Once the track is ready to be put away the box has been designed to be a storage box/drawers which keeps it all together and safe. Track is easy to assemble and my 3year old was able to help myself, husband and our 8 and 9 year olds to build it. Once we had the track set up we then had to download it to a phone as for some reason the tablet was not picking it up on google play store. I had to turn my location on and go into settings on the app to give permission for location on the Bluetooth, once I had figured that out it was really easy to set up. My children enjoyed scanning the cars using the track. The track can be set up in different ways or additional tracks can be bought as well as extra cars. Plenty of fun being had by older ones definetly say it is for older children as you need to pump the track for the cars to move around as the rev, my 3 year old needed a lot of help keeping it in the blue as going into the red colour made the car fly off the track. Plenty of floor space will be needed.

My grandkids loved this. Warning! the cars really fly on the track and this could be a danger to smaller children.

Very well and attractively packaged. The track itself appears to be of good quality and seems to be fairly durable. My daughter enjoyed using the rev machine-thing to make the cars fly around the track and high speeds. The Hot Wheels iD app may need some work as it often doesn't recognise the track or the cars. ( I had updated app and track to latest software) We didn't really use the app much because of these issues and just used the track on its own. Over all it's a nice product that is well made, but I don't feel that the technology brings much to the product.

I received the Hot Wheels ID Smart Track Kit for free in exchange for my honest opinion. Even in its large box, this toy is impressive - the kids were in such suspense waiting to play. The packaging is super sturdy to prevent damage to the electronics and it takes quite awhile to dismantle the whole thing, in addition to building and setting it up. If you have impatient kids, keep that in mind so *you* don't go out of your mind while building. To be fair, I'm not sure if our instructions got misplaced or if they were missing from the set, but my husband (who is usually a whiz at setup & building) had a tough time winging it, even with google and youtube and whatever guides he found off the interwebs. Note also that the app, which is a key component of the Smart Track toy, is a whopping 824 MB, not exactly tiny, and was incompatible with my son's old Samsung Galaxy Tab. We instead played on my husband's phone, which was not ideal bc the experience was sorely limited by the small screen. Unfortunately, we also found the app clunky to use and not that well designed, so hopefully it will get updated as Hot Wheels ID expands. Nevertheless, this is an exciting toy and my kids loved how the booster made the cars whip around the track! The concept is so cool: little chip-embedded race cars that look just like the ones I grew up with, but can do much more, like complete different track challenges and record racing history such as speed and lifetime mileage. And serve as an avatar to be played in the app! You can play games in the virtual world using the "same" car that you played with on the track - same stats, same body detailing. That said, I should also mention that the speed at which the cars sometimes flew off the tracks made me nervous. The first time it happened I was grateful none of us happened to be sitting in the trajectory bc the car crashed so hard into our cabinet it left a big scratch! I know it's marked age 8+, but even then I don't think I would rest easy letting them play totally unsupervised due to the speed. At full price, I'm not sure the Smart Track system will grab a huge following. It's a really really cool toy, but the high cost plus the safety issue def makes me hesitate. Looking forward to seeing how the system evolves as they develop this line of Hot Wheels! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

No longer supported but still selling it

The box arrived in horrible condition. It had obviously been opened and re-taped at least twice. It was missing the instructions and some of the parts. I'll never buy from Good Buy Products again. Walmart needs to do a better job at handling who they let sell through their company

The package came all beat up with stickers all over it. It wasn't even in other box so the stickers were right on the package and this was a Christmas present. It was an unacceptable experience and this seller should be banned from selling in the future. He already had alot of other bad reviews previously.

I purchased this as a Christmas present back in November. My son opened it on Christmas and began setting it up. Once he signed in to the system it said it was discontinued/no longer supported/no longer available as of 12/31. I was so happy I spent over $100 on a race track for 7 days!
