I have now a 3-year-old and a 6-year-old. every year for both of their birthdays, I will not go anywhere else for their cakes and cupcakes! I always choose the whipped lighter fluffier absolutely delicious frosting and then I get some with Bavarian filling and then some without any at all. No matter which way you go, these are very well done and everyone always loves them! their customer service is also super nice and helpful, and Mary went out of her way to give us a call and let us know that they had another option that goes with our theme that she had already put aside in case we would want to use it and we did! Love everything about this bakery.
The cake was a Hit! Fresh, moist, and tasty. The design machine was down but the cake designer called to let me know there was a problem. But she had a solution in order for me to have a cake for the birthday. She was very customer service, making sure we were happy with what we were going to get. Going over and beyond picking up my design from another store of theirs. Great job!
My secret weapon for awesome looking, great tasting, soft, moist butter cream frosting cakes is Walmart! Store on 377 always does the trick. This cake was adorable. My 7 year old loves it!
The cake was perfect for my nephews 4th birthday. I only took one star off because there's literally never anyone behind the bakery counter or a way to page them so you're not standing there for 20 minutes looking lost. I buy at least 5 cakes a year between my kids and my sisters, it's a consistent issue. At least put a buzzer or something so they know someone is waiting.
I love that the customized text for this cake was printed vs. written. The cake was pretty large. I ordered one layer vanilla, one layer chocolate, Bavarian cream filling, and whipped frosting. Everyone loved it. My only complaint is that I would have liked even just a little more filling, and the outside edges weren't perfectly straight like the image (it was kind of lumpy/sagging) regardless - it was for a kid party, the kids loved the cake. I thought it was delicious. I also love ordering the cakes online vs. going into the store, but I really wish it was simpler to search the different cake designs. I can just type in “hot wheels” from the custom cakes/cupcakes, I have to scroll each and every option.
The cake was great. Taste, texture, and value. My issue is I ordered my cake in advance but was not informed that they didn't have the hotwheels decorations until 6am the morning of my sons party. That was a lack of preparation on their part.
The cake was almost cut in half with the decorations and the side was smudged. Maybe because it was put into a box and it wasn't secured. Not sure why. It tasted good though
Couldn't see the writing on the cake asked them to write it in the middle of the cake and the wouldn't do it I'm 60 years old I was in the electric cart and on oxygen asked to speak to a manager and she went and got a lady and she said she had to escort me out off the store and I couldn't come back I was so embarrassed I don't think I will ever shop at another Walmart ever
I asked them to write Happy 4th Birthday Tony on my son cake. I'm assuming they didn't have the color icing I asked for instead of them improvising or asking if I wanted a different color, they used the fondant to write it. And it was SO SMALL YOU COULD BARELY SEE IT! They ruined my son cake and didn't care to fix it or redo it. I will never got to Walmart again for my kid cake. To not call me and let me know they no longer had the icing color nor ask me if I wanted to substitute a different color icing is crazy! They went ahead and did what they wanted as if it didn't matter to me THE COSTUMER! Disgrace!
I️ have been ordering my cakes from Walmart for several years now. This particular time I️ was not pleased with my cake. I️ did an online order so the process was smooth. Time and pickup was as schedule. However, when I️ went to pick up my cake, 2 ladies from the deli had to assist with pick up. The cake topper was missing. Since that's not their department, I️ was given a cake topper that did not fix my cake. I️ know how to improvise so that part really wasn't a deal breaker. Upon opening the box, I️ was not pleased with the appearance of the cake because it had lumps or air bubbles in the cake. I️ told the lady that was assisting but she reiterated that “No decorators are available, they left at 4”. She seemed frustrated and rushing because it was getting busy and people were trying to place order but she couldn't because she wasn't the decorator plus the deli line was increasing. Again, I overlooked the rudeness. It wasn't until I️ got home and cut the cake that I️ realized my cake was fondant and butter cream! Every cake I have ever order from Walmart has been a licensed “Whipped cream Cake”! I'm always told that the whipped cream will melt and etc.. licensed cake are better buttercream because it's less hassle for the decorator. I always tell them I'm still interested in “Whipped Cream” despite their disclaimer. Since it was a holiday I️ had to wait to call. When I️ did call I️ wasn't please with the way the situation was handle. I️ wasn't compensated because I️ was told to bring the cake in, which wasn't a problem because the cake is still in my fridge. My son turned 2, so there were finger marks all over the cake with missing icing. However, the cake was only $20 or less. It would be a huge inconvenience and waste of gas to bring in a cake that's just going to go in the trash to prove a point that the order was completely wrong. The lady then tried to say “I️ know there wasn't nothing wrong with the cake because I️ was the one that decorated your cake”! I️ asked for a manger and of course I️ was told to come in and speak to a manger and bring the cake for reimbursement. The merrillville has become very unprofessional over the last few years with unprofessional staff and quality of orders. I️ will gladly take my future support to other locations that value accountability and respect for consumers.
