Really, I would say this is 4.5 stars. When you purchase this toy, make sure to stock up on size D batteries. Otherwise, you're going to have some disappointed kids until you can get to the store again. Overall, this is a really nice set. There are a lot of options to choose from to make your track. You can pretty much set it up any way you want. There is an issue, however, with some of the pieces not fitting together snugly. Every now and then, this will cause a car to go flying off the track when it hits that spot. So do make sure everyone around is aware of the possibility of projectile Hot Wheels, haha! The kids absolutely loved it once we got some batteries. We've had it for two weeks and they've played with it every day, and I must have seen at least twenty different configurations of the track. They especially enjoy racing with a double track (our police car is the fastest) and lining up every single Hot Wheels car we own at the same time to see how long they can run through without crashing off the course. Let me start off by saying this is AWESOME!! One of the best features about this product is the fact that it comes in its own storage box and the fact that you use the box as part of the track and the power booster as the lid sets this product by far above any other of its kind. Not only was my son playing with the race track but my daughter was too. Instead of hearing them argue all I could hear was laughter coming from them. Long tracks which my son loved and smart way of interlocking the tracks.I liked how the container itself was a part of the track. We still need to explore setting up other track designs since we are not done playing with the first one ;) I had little trouble figuring out how the tracks interlock,but after that it was fun to build. This track is a lot of fun! My girls (ages 5 and 6) really enjoy playing with this. They can set the track up in a way that the cars come right back to them and then they send them again. Make sure to have 4 D batteries before you start building because it's a bummer to have to run out to get them after the track is being built. Also, I have to put their hair up in a ponytail because there are quickly spinning pieces that will easily grab hair while they lean over to pick up their car. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Once we set it up for my kids they loved it. Requires 4 D batteries, so we're couldn't play right away. My kids were disappointed. It was too difficult for my 6 year old to push the pieces together and follow the correct order to make the complete track. Definitely needed parent assistance to set up. The motor outs also very loud, so just be aware.

I bought this for myself as a holiday gift. It arrived on time and it had many configurations to play around with and keep me entertained. I've stood by this for hours watching as the cars zoom by. Would highly recommend as it is good for the price. The one problem I've had is that it was a slight inconvenience to find some D batteries as it delayed when I could start to use it. It is also quite loud so don't expect it to be silent when turned on. But otherwise putting it together was relatively easy and it made my weekend. In summary it is a good product for the price with many options for creativity but can be loud and slightly inconvenient to get it going. Would recommend to anyone looking to get a big track!

This is a lot of fun but it is super loud. Like louder than the vacuum cleaner.

I really hate writing reviews but this product was a waste of money. I was stupid excited when this arrived as I was going through moments of nostalgia from my own childhood. My 3 year old son being a little young for it I admit but he's just excited he's got a track for his cars. Get this piece of art put together after 20 minutes of opening the box which mind you was horribly planned. How was I supposed to know there are rubber bands holding the lid down almost broke it trying to open it. But this isn't the issue with the machine. You ever been beside a jet plane as the engines turn on? Ever lost all your hearing in 2 seconds? I hit the power button and this thing sounded like rocks were inside the wheels getting grinded down. My child started screaming and crying immediately, my dogs started wailing, and I turned it off, put it back in its box and it's never been used again. I'd return it if I could find all the cars and parts but my kids quick to losing those kinds of things.
