House of Fara Solid Red Oak 7/8 x 3-1/2 Rosette Block

I am doing some bathroom remodeling, and wanted to class things up by using rosette and plinth blocks as part of the door and window trim. I ordered 4 of the rosette blocks, and made the plinth blocks for the door trim. I replaced all of the base trim, as well, with red oak that I cut and shaped. The rosette blocks were going to be a special addition. All four of the blocks could have had cleaner and sharper edges. There was slight splintering along the back, outside edge of each block. I could not sand them completely off/out, as it would have rounded the back edges, which I did not want to do. The bigger issue was that one of the 4 blocks had 3 cracks, with the grain, from the outside edge inward, about 3/8th of an inch long. This particular block was also a lot darker than the other 3, and the semi transparent stain that I had put on all of the oak trim did nothing to lighten the block. That block stands out from the rest of the trim. I had been waiting for these blocks, so I could finish the door and window trim, and therefore decided to go ahead and use them.
