I can't believe the many bad reviews of this product. My guess is those folks didn't read or follow the user instructions. Because of those reviews I almost didn't make the purchase and I'm so happy I decided to give it a try. This is the best popcorn maker I've ever owned and over the years I've owned many. After reading the instructions I put 2 Tbsp of olive oil and (the included) one cupful of corn for what seems to be the perfect combination leading to a perfect result. I've now made popcorn about 6 - 7 times and every time has been perfect. I'd say, on average, I've had 2 or 3 unpeopled kernels, better result than any popper I've had before. And,(by following directions) I've never had any burning whatsoever. And cleaning is easy especially since the tray and plastic cover separate from the heating element. I basically dust off the bottom tray and wash the plastic cover. Then I'm ready for the next time. Don't be swayed by any of the negative reviews. In every way this is a great popcorn maker.

This is an excellent popcorn popper. My family loves it. We don't even buy the microwave popcorn bags anymore they are not as good as the popcorn from the popcorn maker. I will be this again. The only con and its really is not worth mentioning is the lid will not stay on when the popcorn is hot so if you want to use it give the bowl a chance to cool down, but if you like hot popcorn put a paper towel over it and enjoy! Also cleaning is easy.

I had to replace my popcorn machine. The old one was not very good. Kernals did not pop fully, the popping was intermittent, and not all the kernals popped. This one on the other hand must heat up to the perfect temperature because the corn pops to maximum fluffiness. When the kernels start popping just about all of them pop in unison. This machine leaves very few unpopped kernels. Warning, take the popcorn off the burner immediately after no more popping to prevent burning.

I like the texture and taste of the popcorn. The removable plate is a big plus as it can be cleaned in the sink. It took a bit of experimenting so we didn't have burnt popcorn. Make sure to shut off the unit and remove the plate and bowl when popping stops.

1st one i ordered didnt arrive. i went in store and finally found one in stock and got it. I love it besides the little black lid Will not stay on after 1st use so while trying to eat popcorn you have it popping off and dropping little bits of butter/seasoning out. besides that works great and love it Only do small batches tho as the kerns get stuck under the bar and start to burn the more you make. (may just be user error tho)

The lid cracked and broke. I think from washing it in the dishwasher. I guess it's pretty fragile. I'm trying to find a way to replace it. Besides that, it's a great popcorn maker. I can't really use it again until I can find a way to replace the lid. Let's see if customer service is any good. I'll update this review.

Thought this was like a movie theater popcorn maker. No it is not. Bought many different products to use with machine. Nothing makes it taste better. Also my lid to the bowl is not sitting on the bowl after one time use. Hand washed also. The lid is warped..

The first three times we used it, it was great. But then, the seal/gasket underneath the spinner arm started allowing oil to drip down onto the burner....hot oil on top of a super hot burner... not good and you can guess how that went. it sucks bc before the gasket failure it was PERFECT and was the best popper id ever had.

After using the popper about 3 times, I can no longer get the little plastic lid to stay on the bowl. It keeps popping off. Either the lid has warped slightly, or the fitting on the bottom of the bowl is not designed properly. So now after popping, I have to tape the lid to the bowl.

I believe this item is very dangerous to use and especially would not use around children or pets (if they jump up on your countertop). The machine has a base that gets extremely hot - this heats up, the detachable cast iron plate which is used to pop the popcorn. The tricky part comes when you have to flip it over upside down to put the popcorn into the bowl. This exposes the base that is open and dangerous. However brief of time ir takes, it only take one misstep to seriously burn your hand, your child's hand or pet. Prior to this step, i forgot to mention, that the cover you have to put on the top that is suppose to melt the butter is hard to sucure and future leads to moving the unstable unit around and possible getting really burnt. I don't like it. The plastic bowl is very thin! I'm just waiting for it to crack then I can throw it all in the trash ( afer the unit AND I calm down ) I do not recommend this item because it is Dangerous and cheaply made.
