HP 15.6" Full HD Laptop, Intel Core i7-1065G7 Processor, 8GB Memory, 256GB SSD

Great resolution Full HD, there are so many different combinations of specs on computers these days so it all depends on what you are looking for. This computer doesn't have a backlit keyboard, is on the smaller side of hard drive space, and has the standard 8 GB of RAM. What it does have is the newest, 10th generation top of the line core i7 processor ( there are many different 10th gen core i7's and this one is one of the top tier of all the core i7 processors. There are also core i3 and core i5, of which all have multiple types of those. It has intel plus graphics which looks great when playing games. The solid state drive allows this computer to start up and be surfing the web in about 15 seconds. It's so fast! The bonus is the HP care pack that came with mine, 2 years of accidental damage coverage was a great addition.

This is a great laptop for what I need it for. I purchased it when it was on a deal, but it was a great deal and the computer is lightweight, great size (I didn't want anything too big, but I wanted the number pad), and delivers with everything on it. The only thing I wish it had was a light or indicator that your num lock was on.

I purchased two of these computers...one for me and one for my wife. They arrived very quickly, well packed and in perfect condition. I am very pleased with the purchase. They have plenty of memory, a very fast processor and solid state hard drive. They also come with the 64 bit version of the Windows 10 operating system. Because of this combination of features, the computers boot up and shut down very quickly...in seconds, not minutes like our previous units. They also launch programs very quickly. The Full HD graphics are very sharp and clear. That's the good news. There were a couple of negatives as well. The first was the fact that the 2 year Care pack was not registered to the computers when they arrived. There was no certificate in the box which meant following a very cumbersome process with HP which included taking a photo of the serial number and downloading a copy of the sales receipt from the Sam's Club website. This had to be done for each computer. Copies of everything were emailed to HP. The second negative is the lack of a DVD drive and insufficient number of USB ports. Our old computers had four USB 2.0/3.0 ports as well as a DVD drive. The new ones have two 3.0/2.0 ports and 1 USB C port. There is no DVD drive. The USB C port requires an adapter in order to be used with the standard USB 2.0/3.0 cables. To get DVD features, a separate external drive must be purchased. This "negative" is more something to get used to than a defect. When shopping this computer, virtually all the computers I looked at had similar configurations. The downside is that to get the functionality of the older designs, one must live with more cables and accessories plugged into the computer. The performance of this computer outweighs these issues and I would recommend it to anyone as a very good value.

This computer starts up fast and download things in a very timely manner, the windows 10 was very easy to use after coming off Windows 7

It works great and was easy to set up … even for a middle aged techno peasant.

Pros - Runs well. Fairly light. Excellent display, both the native screen and on an external monitor. Starts-up from the SSD is very fast, noticeably faster than my equivalent laptop with a rotating HDD. Read and write seem to be fairly fast. Speakers produce surprisingly good sound for a laptop. WiFi radio seems very good, connection stays solid in weak signal areas where my other laptops sometimes struggle. Cons - External I/O is USB or WiFi only; no CD reader, Ethernet port, or SD Card port. No back light on keyboard. Cooling fan is unexpectedly loud for this size unit. Other - Great for browsing, streaming. The I7 processor is fast but likely limited by the laptop's heat dissipation capability, so I expect some speed throttling if I challenge it. The relatively small SSD size is not really bothersome as I use predominantly cloud based storage. I am quite satisfied with the unit.

My old laptop went South so I needed a computer fast, no smartphone here. Found this mid price HP on sale at Sam's club.com and ordered it, free shipping with being a Plus member, andreceived it a couple days later. It's working fine and no glitches other than the usual setup stuff. Happy with the purchase!

I was looking for a basic computer for mainly banking, searching and basic letters/spreadsheets. I didn't want to spend a lot of money. This computer has fit the bill just perfect. I do wish it was bigger screen as the keyboard letters are closer than I like but as little as I do, it will be fine. I really like the price when I bought this too.

I think this is a good deal for the price, but I was really disappointed with the keyboard not being backlit and the resolution/quality of the screen was pretty poor. It seemed as if no matter what way I positioned the screen it had a glare on it. Other than that the computer worked great, fast processor and enough RAM for me but not what I wanted long term so I returned it.

I will be calling customer service. Overall, I love the computer but the battery lasts a maximum of 3 hours when not plugged in.
