HP 15.6" HD Laptop, Intel Core i3-8145U, 8GB SDRAM, 1TB HDD, Ghost Silver, 15-dw0037wm

I received this item as a sample review. Upon first receiving the box, I immediately noticed how lightweight it is. The laptop itself is about 3.8 lbs. It is a nice looking laptop with a 15" screen that seem to almost go all the way to the edge giving it an even more wider look. The image is clear with good color tones. It has USB connectors, a SD port, and a earphone jack. Note, there is no CD or DVD drive. The CPU is i3 a processor, so you're not going to be doing any high end gaming in this unit. You would use this to mainly do word processing, emails, outlook, power point, watching youtube, and surfing the web. It does not have a separate graphics card. So again, you won't be doing any high end gaming. It does have 8GB RAM which is nice over the 4GB models and helps keep more windows open at the same time. It has 1 TB hard drive, which is also nice to help with storing lots of pictures, or videos. Of course, it also has built in wi-fi and blue tooth so making connection to internet and devices easy. So, when rating this unit, one would have to consider what this unit was designed for. First, I would say this is not for gaming, video editing, or anything that will require a lot of processing power and speed. But if you're looking for something to do word processing, email, power point, and basic youtube and surfing the web, then this is a good affordable choice.

I am really enjoying my new HP laptop! Wow, it comes with 1 TB of storage; simply incredible! It was super-easy to set up as, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Cortana spoke right up and guided me through seamlessly until I was up and running. The start up mode will not allow you to skip past signing in, or signing up for, a Microsoft account. I already had an account so I was able to breeze past additional setup. It would also not let me bypass setting up a computer logon Microsoft PIN. I was hoping to set it up to a PASSWORD instead of a PIN so that it would be in sync with my other computers, but I haven't investigated how to go about doing this yet. I was hoping they'd all sync together, but they did not. The keyboard has large keys with large centered white lettering on each key, which I love. Most laptops have the lettering in the upper left-hand corner of each key instead which makes it hard to read. The large letters and centering of each letter makes the keys so much easier to identify for the not-so-savvy typist. Unfortunately, the keys are not back lit. The actual keyboard is off-center due to the numeric pad on the right side. Being left-handed, this didn't create any issues and my hands/wrists felt comfortable while typing. This laptop IS NOT a touch screen however, Cortana was there to assist with surfing the web. Initially, and by default, the user must navigate the mouse to the mic, click it, and then Cortana is activated. I didn't want to have to use the finger mouse to activate her so my first command was, "Cortana, how do I use you without having to use the mouse and the mic?" She quickly took me to a YouTube video which showed me how to wake her up by the voice command, "Hey, Cortana." Once I had that set up, I used the Hey Cortana feature to surf the web. Along the way I would ask her crazy questions because she really is funny and entertaining! So even though this laptop is not Touch Screen, there is the ability to navigate without having to use the mouse for some things. The screen colors are very colorful and vibrant. I honestly can't get over how much storage this laptop has! There are lots of other features such as being BlueTooth compatible, HDMI slot, etc; all of this type of information can be found in the specifications.

HP Pavilion 15-dw0037wm is extremely thin, lightweight and packed with features. Its 15.6" display boasts SVA BrightView LED-Backlit display (SVA stands for super vertical alignment) that contributes to the better viewing angles, clear images and vivid colors. The screen can be efficiently viewed from the different angles which mean more flexibility and less eye fatigue. The micro-edge feature with the bezel only a quarter of an inch wide yields more display area that further adds to the modern slim appearance and portability. All that and more while having lower power usage which translates into the huge battery life. That means the laptop can be used for the longer time without having to recharge the battery that further adds to the portability. What's more, the HP Pavilion 15 can be used in either laptop or a tablet mode. The latter enables touchscreen, so you don't have to use the keyboard. The HP Pavilion 15 features excellent multitasking power with its 8th generation Intel Core i3-8145U processor coupled with a large 8 GB DDR4 SDRAM memory and a spacious 1 TB 5400 RPM hard drive. The laptop is just under 3/4 of an inch thick with the lid closed that adds to the efficiency and portability. More user friendly features include the island style keyboard with the numeric pad. The power button is discreetly placed in the top left and does not light when pressed on. Moreover, the low profile keys feature a flat top and straight down edges along with the extra space between them and a short key travel, therefore less up and down movement which adds to the convenience of use and the modern look, plus the keyboard is easier to clean. The Num Lock key is not lighted when pressed on which takes some getting used to. This key is a toggle between the numbers and the arrows. I would leave it on for the numbers as a default and use the arrow keys in the main keyboard. The function keys have their respective functions imprinted on top of each so no more guessing. Want to mute your laptop for more privacy? Press F6. A Night Light settings feature allows for the warmer colors set up during the night hours as opposed to the blue light so the end user can sleep better at night. This can be custom set up to a certain degree or to the specific hours; sunset to sunrise by default. It goes without saying that all settings can be customized to one's preference. Overall, a stylish and efficient laptop with huge battery life, extremely portable and lightweight, with tons of features. I am very pleased with my new HP Pavilion 15 laptop and highly recommend it to anyone.

This computer is so sleek and nice. It runs very nicely as well. Windows 10 is installed which has been wonderful. The keyboard is so nice and easy to clean. I was shocked to learn we need a pin to get in it instead of a password. Thank you for allowing me this review.

Am so pleased with our new HP! Setting up was easy and fast which is always a big plus. It works so much faster than my old one, it's almost unbelievable! Highly recommend!!

I received the HP 15 Ghost Silver Laptop, 15-DW0037WM, 15.6HD, Intel Core i3-8145U, Windows 10 Home, HD Webcam, 8GB SD RAM, 1TB storage, WIFI & Bluetooth, for providing an honest review of the laptop. It arrived promptly, was well packaged, even though it shipped in only the display box. Set-up was easy, basically follow Cortana's oral instructions, just make sure you have your email and Microsoft passwords ready to complete set-up. It has up to 10 hours of mixed usage battery life and precision touch-pad. The brushed silver exterior is very attractive and it was easy to seamlessly move from my current laptop to this one. The touch-pad is great, but I am “old school” so I chose to use a mouse which worked well. There was a lot of excess software on the computer, so I removed a bunch of it and added other software that I commonly use. It is now basically a clone of my current laptop which will need to be replaced soon.

So happy to received this HP 15.6" laptop with reliable performance up to 10 hours of battery life with a mixed usage but a lesser time when you are doing streaming. It's so easy to set up with Cartona voice assist Windows 10 Operating System she will guide you until the end of set-up. Cartona's voice is loud and clear easy to understand and needed with your email address and Microsoft account, or if you have your Product keys from Microsoft you can encode it, and you're all set which also has an offer of 1 month free trials. The laptop weight is about 3.84 lbs with a 6.5 mm miro-edge bezel display and slim portable design. The top color is silver and dark-gray, black inside, this is not a touch screen laptop but with the excellent precision pad to navigate with left and right button click on top of pad or you can use the Mouse through Bluetooth or USB drive corded if preferred (mouse not included). The Processor is 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i3-8145U with a speed of 2.1 GHz. For me the speed it's ok especially for just daily routine check and sends emails or simple projects for the school. It has a storage of 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA and RAM of 8 Gigabyte. It has HD display with pleasant sounds, loud and clear with dual front-facing speakers for exceptional stereo quality. It has 2 USB 3.0 port, memory card reader and power connector available to right side laptop were on the left sides RJ-45 (network) jack, (1) HDMI port, (1) USB type-C port and Audio-in (microphone) Audio-out (headphone) combo jack.

Nice laptop all in all nice screen size computer program to walk you through the setup system I went to my phone so I have all my emails and stuff set up nice piece of equipment and I've been kind of playing around on it for the past couple days good speaker system I was actually listening to one of my area online radio deals off to play around with it for a few more days to see you no music and all that kind of stuff and what's my upload and but all in all happy with the whole system. I'll be able to take this back and forth to the American Legion where I'll be able to multitask with this unit I'll be able to do my emails plus take it to the post and do Post emails so I'm looking forward to having a laptop I like HP it's a good product thank you for the opportunity checking out your product

My mom bought me this comouter fir my birthday back in November last year, since then The computer doesnt stay charged like it should and I the warranty on the computer itself expired and I feel they gave me a refurbished one instead of new. The computer is slow and i cant load any oictures

worked good for about 9months with very minimal use. Ran slow time to time but the past month (owned for less than 18m) motherboard/internal system completely died. Will not turn on/fans connect etc. of course the warranty has expired and no one can help. Waste of money
