I bought this for my mom for her birthday. She is older and doesn't need much, so it was perfect for her. It's nice and compact, so she can travel with it, as well.

Great buy on this computer. Basic, but very good for my tasks.

Great machine. Super fast boot up. No CD DVD drive but it's got an sd card slot. Very slim. Think apple airbook

I was needing a new laptop but didn't want to spend too much. I saw this one on sale and the specs were decent and had a backlit keyboard. I knew i wanted a bigger ssd so I ordered a 500gb Samsung SSD M.2 and installed it myself. Downloaded windows 10 to a USB Flashdrive and booted up to that after I installed the new ssd. Laptop is extremely fast and does everything I wanted it to do. Only complaints are the screen isn't 1080P and the backlit keyboard won't stay lit up for long if you aren't typing or using the touch pad. Since I'm using a mouse is goes dim on me quite often, maybe there is a way to make it stay on all the time but I haven't figured that out yet. I would recommend this laptop for under $400.

This laptop comes with microsoft 10-S installed. I called HP and they said they would remove 10-S and install windows 10 for $75 ! HP support is worse than Awful, this was even after contacting second level support ! I switched out 10-S myself with following instruction from the internet. 10-S sucks, it turns your laptop into a lousy cellphone with APPs only from microsoft! If you want a Google Chrome browser, or Firefox one, forget it as the microsoft "store" will not sell it to you !!!! other that that fiasco the laptop boots up in 15 seconds, but you MUST enter a password to allow the Windows software to start, another annoying feature. And also remember to read the small print, as this el-cheepo has NO optical drive, so good luck loading your CD roms software. You will get stuck buying a CD r/w drive, so at least buy one using the USB-3 port, so it doesn't take all day to load your software.

I bought this mainly for the color, pale gold, and the first thing I noticed as after about a week the keyboard no longer lit up. It's overall a good computer but that alarmed me, it was a big plus.

The first day I used it the x and the y keys were mixed up you have to push alt-shift to get it back and it randomly does this throughout the day. I have a 17 in and it does the same thing. Also this computer will lose all passwords ever few days. It gets really frustrating because I depend on Microsoft to save them. Seems like minor stuff but it gets really really troublesome.

Computer is nice for the money. The touch pad is very sensitive. If you touch the sides it interferes with touch pad.

Very poor quality. First, there was no DVD player and I had to go out and spend more money to buy one. BUT SECONDLY, the letters on the keys of the keyboard are NOT IN WHITE or a contrasting color and you can't see the letters clearly. I would think that someone would have checked this before you allowed an item like this to be produced. Why in heaven's name wouldn't you make the letters WHITE on a black key? Amazing!
