I bought this because of the impending Windows 10 loss-of-support and also because my previous desktop, an HP Pavilion 20 all-in-one was 12 years old and had been extremely slow for years, despite my efforts to free up memory and run fixes. Truth be told, I was hesitant to buy another HP all-in-one for that reason but, unlike shopping for desktops a decade ago, I found the choices fewer and the options that checked all or most of my boxes (including budget), so to speak, limited.
I've had this now for just under a week and am really pleased with its speed. I had been a bit concerned about making the transition to Windows 11 but its display/ interface is really not that significantly different from previous versions. It's moreso a matter of getting used to where they moved the icons and you can still create shortcuts on the desktop in addition to the center window that opens up with your pins.
I deducted 1 point on my review for the following things, which are pretty minor overall but, without them, I would have given it 5 stars:
-All the ports are in the back center. This makes it a bit awkward if you want to use a flash drive, for instance. (One thing I appreciated about my old HP Pavilion is that the ports were on the left side of the monitor frame.)
-The paper instructions are pretty simplistic and brief, mainly numbered and arrowed pictures of what's what and what goes where, very little written steps. If the computer is for someone not used to setups, it would probably help to have someone with a little more experience or intuitiveness helping, including the startup steps once you turn it on.
-The Microsoft Solitaire and Casual Games section is fun and you can play for points, compete in events, etc. But I experienced freezes/crashes about 3 times while playing the solitaire games and had to Task Manager out of it. Also, a few of the games have to be downloaded to be played and the word game won't connect to or download from the MS store, at least not from the provided link.
Overall, though, so far so good for the few days I've had it. It also won't break the budget if you want a fast computer with nice size touch-screen monitor and great sound quality. And the seller shipped promptly.
