The shredder easily turns documents into unrecognizable bits. The sheet feeder makes an efficient task of doing a stack. Just be careful to remove any staples. It should work well for home or a small office.
Best shredder I have purchased. HP makes good product products.
FedEx lost package 1 week and still no equipment
This is an awesome shredder. It will shred a stack of paper hands free, just load in chute and it automatically feeds into recessed cutting blades. Set it & forget it. Operation is quiet. Shred basket fills after about 100 pages. This is good as a break to let shredder cool. Basket pulls out the front easily without lifting of any of shredder assembly and return of empty basket is smooth and functional. Be sure to order lubricant shredder sheets when purchasing this shredder. We are happy with this purchase.
If you put more than 10 pages in the feed tray it freaks out a little, but the shred is amazing and I can fill three bins full before it starts to get warm. I've yet to overheat it, but figure four bins may get there.
This works well for the price. I don't believe it could actually shred 9 pages of paper at once in the manual slot but it works well. The auto feed is pretty reliable only rarely does it seem to grab multiples and jam.
Easy to set up and use right out of the box. I like that it has a fold-out tray for multiple pages that doesn't block the single-sheet feeder when stowed. Controls have good tactile response. Shreds quickly and efficiently, with tight cross-cut pattern obscuring any sensitive information. Clean-out guards are easy to operate and require two hands to unlatch the (admittedly small) detents, for safety (machine is disabled when clean-out guards are lifted). Auto shut off when Bin is full. Bin is sufficiently large for most office and home needs, though it is not inherently designed to fit a wastebasket liner. Status lights are bright, but text labels are hard to read. Multi-sheet tray sometimes misfeeds if paper isn't perfectly aligned or flat. All-in-all, very good unit for the price for a small home office or small business setting.
Great size and love the auto-feed that makes creating confetti a simple task. My only complaint is that it really seems to 'grunt' on more than one or two sheets of paper when it says it can handle up to nine. I have not even tried nine an am a little afraid to. No real need with the feeder anyway.
The storage bin is quite flimsy and it is shaped oddly. Typically, I would put a garbage bag in the bin; fill it and take the bag out to throw away the shredded material; however, this bin is oddly shaped and I am not sure about using a bag because it might get stuck in the shredder teeth. The odd shape of the bin also caused issues when emptying the bin. I ended up with at least a gallon of what I would describe as hole punch size circles / pieces all over my floor. If a bag works, I would be satisfied but I risk damaging the unit if it gets stuck in the teeth.
The Bad: this shredder does NOT cut 9 sheets at once. It can barley make it through 6 sheets. If this shredder didn't have an auto feeder, it would be useless, and it would take forever to shred through paperwork. I am considering returning this shredder. The Good: Auto-feed is a really nice feature, and one that I really want now since trying this machine. Even though the autofeed works well, it can still grab a few sheets at a time, and it struggles to cut more than a few sheets at a time, thats how i figured out this cant even handle the full 9 sheets, after I did a one off test with exactly 9 (regular) sheets of paper.
