i have purchased two other well known printers over the years. one i came to hate and the latter the ink is outrageous. so at this price i decided to try hp. I LOVE THIS PRINTER. start up was easy. easy scan. prints COLLATED!!! printing menu is not the best but it will do. and ink is affordable!
It was time to replace my printer/copier/scanner as it was so old the ink cartridges were going to cost more than a new printer! I was looking for a decent printer at a decent price. So I took a chance on this one. Didn't want anything elaborate, but dependable and user friendly. Love this printer. It was up and running in no time. User friendly, prints quickly and with a nice quality. It is a perfect size, and I like how it keeps you notified of ink status.
Easy to set up. I was disappointed that the instructions were so vague, but that's what the web is for. Print quality is great. I like the wireless function.
Despite some reviews claiming that setting up and connecting online was difficult, I found it to be very easy and also very quick. I went to the 123 website, downloaded software, followed prompts, connected the enclosed USB cable to my laptop and done! Popped in the enclosed printer cartridges and was printing and scanning and copying. Nice copies, easy to use. and an option to get a great deal on printer cartridges - which I signed-up for, after doing my math. And, can't beat the price for the value!
Really easy to use and even someone like me who has NO idea about technology was able to get it going! The only difficult part was installing the ink cartridges and that was just because I wasn't sure on how hard you are supposed to push them and if they snap into place. Answer-yes, they will snap into place if you push firmly. This is a great little printer!
It works good. Pictures print well. Price was right! But I DO NOT like the white border around the pictures I print. I would rather it print the entire 4X6 picture. It did automatically connected to my Dell cpu with windows 7 and it automatically prints legal pages when I need to print a legal page. What I wish someone had told me is that there is NO TELEPHONE NUMBER in the United States to call the FREE tech support for 90 days. Only thing I found was a tele. to Singapore. I was afraid to call it because it might have charged me for the call. I did find some 1-800 numbers to other foreign countries, but did not know if that was what I was supposed to call for help. I found NO TELEPHONE NUMBER to call their FREE tech support in the paper work that comes with the printer. Why? I just hope I do not need help down the line. Who would I call?
First, I wish you the best of luck installing the software. There is NO CD, so you have to go online and download it...an issue wrought with problems. It took three tries and an hour to get the HP website to load the software correctly. Make sure you don't click on the wrong link or they'll send you to an HP site that'll try to sell you a program that's supposed to fix your computer when problems arise (Has NOTHING to do with the printer and it's very difficult to get out of.) Once you get the software loaded it does work well except for two more minor problems. If the software doesn't pin the printing/scanning icons to your toolbar at the bottom, you'll have to manually search for the program and pin it yourself. The other problem is if you start to print the wrong item, forget the "X"/cancel button on the printer keypad, it'll hesitate for a few seconds then continue...the ONLY way I've found so far to cancel a print job is to shut it off! Now...with all this said, it IS quite fast and prints very nicely. HP has started a new program called "HP instant ink". I STRONGLY suggest at least trying it, (They have a 90 day free trial). The lowest price is $3.00/month which is roughly the same price as two full price cartridges and they send them to you! If you get low on ink, this printer automatically emails HP and orders the next set of cartridges! Kudos to HP on that!
Had to buy a printer for home to use during the Coronavirus. This printer uses to much ink . I am on my third set of ink cartridge in 2 1/2 weeks. HP may have a better printer but I don't recommend this one.
This was on sale, but when I got it set up, you could not use the wireless printer and ended up using a patch cord. Prints ok, have tried to print pictures with it and does not work. If you just need this for occasional printing then your good to go. would not recommend this product.
HP used to make a good printer. Now they are in the software and data collection business. Now their junk is complicated and does not work. Really HP what are you doing?
