I'll start with my only complaint: the battery life. I've tried both battery settings of "balanced" and "performance" and both drain the battery pretty quickly as compared to other laptops I've used. I'm estimating around 4-6 hours of constant use if running off battery power alone. This could be an underestimate as I rarely run the battery beyond 50%, but it definitely isn't going to last you an entire day of non-stop computing without a charge. Battery life isn't a huge deal to me as I'm an at home user 99% of the time. The overwhelming positive: Great laptop in general. I bought mine 11/2020 for black Friday and it was $400 with tax. I had an HP i7 with similar specs bought in 2018 which got lost/stolen, this Ryzen 5 processor is probably slightly faster than that i7 was. Keyboard nice, shallow, snappy. The keys can be hard to read in sunlight but that's not a huge deal. Screen better than average with acceptable brightness. Otherwise, I'm not sure why anyone would buy an expensive laptop now adays when you can get numerous windows offerings for sub $600 (and much less if black friday). This blue HP is probably the best computer I've ever owned in terms of dependability and performance.
So far so good. This is the second of this model we have purchased. The first one is great. A big improvement over our older HP laptop. I spent a few days shopping around for a better option, but kept coming back to this one. Purchased for our college student. Setup was easy. There were a couple drops in network, but I suspect that was caused by system updates, (or because I was using a phone hotspot.) It hasn't happened since. Laptop processing speed is impressive. I'm hoping it lasts.
She is very pleased with this laptop. It replaced a 7 year old HP that she got freshman year of high school. She managed to get her AA and is in the last part of her first year for Bachelor's degree. Hopefully this one lasts as long and she can come away with her PhD before needing to replace it. I only wished that Walmart had more options available for 3 hour delivery.
This HP laptop has a beautiful display screen. It is crystal clear, colors are true and it can be viewed clearly from any angle. The laptop color is a fun versus boring. I like the computer being all one color but i will say the keyboard lettering should have more contrast to make it easier to see. The keyboard is not backlit which is okay, but again the lettering needs to have a better contrast to help with visibility. All of us do not type completely by touch nor do all of us have young eyes. My other complaint with the keyboard is that the numeric keys are cramped and small, which would be fine if you do not use them all the time. I do love the raised chicklet style keys, excellent feel. This laptop was purchased for myself, but because of the keyboard and need, my daughter now has a new laptop she adores.
See previous comment on change of seller and pickup/ shipping method. Additionally, the communication on the price of the item as it changed from Walmart store pickup to 3rd party seller shipping has been inconsistent and I need to keep checking my bank charge worried Walmart did a bait and switch.
The description said that the keyboard was backlit. It is not !!! I am very disappointed as that was a MAJOR selling point for me. I wanted a backlit keyboard and to get it and it not be is a very big let down. I have had previous HP's in the past with issues and was very hesitant about purchasing another. Cindy not Don.
15-eh1052wm This DOES NOT HAVE A BACKLIT KEYBOARD. For some people that is a very important feature. The F5 button is completely blank and the F11 key is for ff. Ignore any pictures you see on Walmart. I recommend you just go to a Walmart and buy something you can see and hold in your hands. Don't trust what you see OR DON'T SEE.
touch pad does not work i haveto return ot now for daughter at Wichita state jr year biomedical engineer new computer DOESN'T WORK!!!!
If I could leave zero stars for this computer, I would. I own three businesses and I purchased this computer when i was in a pinch for time after a category 4 hurricane hit my home town in Florida, at Walmart because I did not have time to drive an hour away to Best Buy. This computer is awful. The day i purchased it, the screen began glitching. Even after three weeks of owning it, and using it it daily, it continously disconnects from my home as well as my two offices'......so i know it isnt my network. It is unfortunate because I do not have time to make a 'claim' that I paid for during this busy time. I am not one to leave bad reviews but this computer has got me stuck in the worst of time, multiple times. I hope HP can fix this so other Business Owners' do not have to go through what I have.
I didn't make this purchase. The purchase was cancelled as soon as I was notified through the app that it had been placed. It was placed by someone trying to pick up in MA. If you have a record of who it was, I would like to press charges. I had to cancel my credit card and now I am waiting on a new one.
