HP Pavilion 15.6" Horizon Blue Laptop

Computers are so unpredictable i hate to review them too soon. It has been about 5 or 6 years since I last bought a new laptop and they have changed so much since then. I hate that they no longer have the DVD drive but I have found I don't really need to use it as much. I love that this has the C drive port so I can charge my phone or connect it using that port or the USB. It was super easy to set up with Cortina interactively walking through the set up. The microphone picked up what I said without issues. I am overall pleased with this Windows 10 device at least for now until the next update lol.

This is my first laptop computer. I love the blue color. The packaging it came in was very protective to the unit. Set up was so very clear and easy; follow the included written directions and then they actually talk you through the completion of installation. The whole process took only 10 minutes and I was up and ready to use the laptop. My laptop automatically connected to my wifi so that was no problem.The screen is very clear and colorful pictures. The speakers are good and easy to hear. The volume buttons are on the keyboard. It comes with Windows 10; 8 GB memory and a long battery life. I found that it turns on instantly when you open the front cover. The case is 9x14" closed and the weight is 3 lb. 11 oz. I would definitely recommend this laptop to my friends and family!

This is one fine laptop! First let me say, I have never owned an AMD processor, I always thought I needed an Intel i7 processor. Guess what? I was dead wrong! This computer is ultra-fast and has made me an avid AMD Processor Advocate! I just didn't know I didn't know! I love how fast this laptop is, this processor can take multiple windows and programs open at the same time and it never slows down! It seems to have hit the perfect sweet spot when it comes to specs, from its 8 GB memory to the 512 GB Solid State Drive mixed with its AMD Ryzen 5 processor, this combination produces a lightning-fast computing experience! I also appreciate how quickly this computer boots up! I have never had a computer boot up so quickly, talk about fast! The 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display is beautiful thanks to the onboard AMD Radeon graphics card and the speakers produce superb sound thanks to the Bang and Olufsen speakers! I appreciate that this computer has a full keyboard with a numeric keypad and a perfectly responsive mousepad! If all this wasn't enough, I love the exterior design and aesthetics of this laptop, from its steel blue color to the weight and feel of the materials used, the combination produces one elegant looking laptop! The fine people at HP sure did get the design of this Pavilion 15 Laptop PC right, it's running on all cylinders and 100% hit the sweet spot! Thank you, HP!

This review is for the HP Pavilion Laptop 15-EH0050WM Initial Setup - Unboxing the laptop was ridiculously easy, and after fully charging the laptop, I started Windows setup, which was rather quick too. Even after intial setup and completely getting up to date with Windows Update only 30% of the battery was used at that point, which I thought was rather good. Design - I enjoy most of the way this laptop was designed. I like that the anti slip / cooling raised sections are two long strips rather than four circles at the corners. I also think the touchpad has a satisfying click and the silver bezel is a nice touch. I would have preferred the speakers being on the top rather than the bottom, but it's not a deal breaker. Also, the hinge when the screen is closed is concave, and personally I think if it were rounded convex instead it would feel better while carrying the laptop, but that's a very minor complaint. The only real problem is there is no physical cover for the webcam, which in this day and age is a rather big oversight. Performance - This laptop is extremely quick. From pressing the power button to the Windows login screen takes only 11 seconds. I think the solid state hard drive definitely makes a world of difference in just how fast this laptop is. While I'm not sure how well new games run on this, I can confirm it runs just about every other kind of program blindingly quick. Also, the speaker performance is surprisingly good for a laptop. Lastly, I absolutely love how quickly this charges. Conclusion - It's really fast and charges just as quickly! So if you're looking for a business/school not gaming laptop, I think you'll be hard pressed to find a better value.

Ryzen 5 4500u (15w) with AMD Vega 6 (2nd generation) is an excellent setup.It's even nicer in this laptop.Feels like it has roughly 250nits of brightness.1080 display is 60hz and supports v-sync.Maximum Ram capacity is 32gb ;) Don't stress that aspect,I promise your good there.Now if you want too play heavy,demanding titles than I recommend getting 32gb of ram,it's not needed, this 8gb is fine this is not a knock against this machine but folks,tech is tech and this has an integrated GPU,More ram is better.When I added 32gb of ram this laptop became an absolute MONSTER considering the price.When you add more ram, The operating system AUTOMATICALLY ALLOCATES SYSTEM RAM TO VIDEO MEMORY,My GPU Shared memory is 16.2gb and 16gb for the system and this thing flies through 1080/60fps hour long video exports in mere seconds.I couldn't believe it, This laptop SMOKES EVERYTHING IN THIS PRICE RANGE. Fortnite 60fps on high,120fps on medium, 144fps on low (medium as well but it's not stable,so at medium set it to 120fps. Warzone will get better after everything gets cached,so don't panic it takes a few games and a reset and the quality goes up. I set the laptop to 720 in its settings, Then in Warzone settings toggle on FULLSCREEN,Set resolution to 720. Turn on shadow cache (there's 2) Set textures too low(no benefit turning it off to the fps and it makes it ugly) Everything else is off for the most part. Expect 45-60fps with 45 being the low and 54 being the average. Valorant will run at 200 fps no problem. Call of duty black ops 2 90fps solid on 1080 high so if you love old cods this thing's AWESOME FOR THOSE. This laptop feels like a $1750 laptop from a year ago!!!!! And btw my Ram is cl16 but it only runs at 2666 and guess what? It's faster than it was so don't believe everything you read lol Much love too all my Gamers Reaper out :)

It comes in a sleek box with the charger and instructions. It was up and running in 10 minutes after being set up. The screen is vibrant and the processor fast and graphics work well running minecraft java. It has a camera and 512 storage, I won't be needing to add more. The 8 ram is adequate to keep it running for a student and light video gaming. Highly recommend for the kids in your life!

please DO NOT leave a 1 star review just because you couldn't buy the product in time. You're making a great performing laptop look bad. Anyways, the laptop is instantly booted up without any hesitation, don't go in thinking you can play the top tier games because by no means is this a gaming laptop. Yes you can play the basic outdated simulators etc. I downloaded resident evil 2 demo to test and yes it could run properly BUT the CPU etc was extremely overloaded and heating up to a hot temperature. Has a big storage capacity for all your work/house needs. I mainly got this to have for the future and a basic browsing laptop with a fast processor, and yes it DOES have a backlit keyboard since the page says it don't. I was so happy about the keyboard having illumination and has two brightness settings for it.

I've been using a lightweight 13 inch laptop for travel that I connect to a full size monitor and keyboard for work. As I've gotten older, that 13 inch screen is a little difficult to work with so I decided to try this 15 inch screen HP Pavilion. I was shocked at the size difference (see the screen pics!) and though it's heavier than my 13 inch by almost a pound, it doesn't feel that bad. It's also thin and well balanced. When starting up (power button is in the function key row/couldn't find it right away), unless you want to link the computer to an existing or new personal Windows account, skip the connect to the internet section. You'll still have to create a Windows user/password account but at least you're not tied to your account…unless you want to be. Once through all the privacy and feature settings (I say no to most/skip for later), the HP blah, blah, blah is over, you can get going. I easily connected to my Wi-Fi, removed a bunch of software (there is quite a bit included…mostly free trials...and nag screens to go with them/remind me to delete) and installed my work-related software in no time. This computer is definitely peppy. There are 2 standard USB ports, a USB C port, HDMI port and SD card slot. Microphone is built in and camera, though a bit grainy (not a bad thing for someone my age...), worked well for remote meetings. The 512GB solid state drive has 476GB of actual space available. Haven't tested full battery power since I usually have it plugged in. Though I prefer a mouse/full size key board, the touch pad and keyboard are decent and the number key pad a bonus. On a typical day, I work with multiple Excel spreadsheets, Word, a browser or two and my mail app running. No issues – something I was concerned about since this only has 8MB RAM. The RAM might be a little light for gamers but it's fine for work/browsing…and some streaming background music. Haven't had it that long, but so far, so good/very happy with this laptop.

I haven't ever owned a new laptop, and my Mac that was given to me and died in 2009, was my first. This HP Pavilion 15.6 runs Windows 10, is very easy to set up, has Cortana if you need a voice and its not as heavy as my Mac was. It seamlessly connected the laptop to my android phone. I was able to set up my apps, email and desktops in a half hour. That's pretty good, considering I've been using a smart phone for years, and a new laptop seemed a little daunting. The speakers work well, the keyboard is crisp and the mouse pad is very responsive. It charges up moderately quickly and holds a charge longer than my old Mac. No slot for CD, not a drawbacks for me. No gaming capacity either. This HP would be a good addition to your devices, great for kids or ahem, older adults like me. Touch-screen, backlit keyboard and fingerprint technology brings this device into the 21st century. I give HP in general and this laptop 2 thumbs up.

I was so excited to receive this HP laptop and couldn't wait to start using it. Once I turned it on, I started setting it up and everything seemed to function well. This is a great laptop with amazing specs and while I was setting it up, it kept blacking out and couldn't get it to come back on until I rebooted it. It came on again and while navigating my way on the computer after less than a minute after turning it on, it blacked out again. It kept doing that until I couldn't get it to come back on again. I then contacted HP Support and a very patient customer support tech walked me through the process of getting the laptop to work but to no avail. Eventually the tech created a work order to have the laptop sent to HP to try and fix it. As I'm writing this review, the laptop is being worked on and hopefully the issue can be resolved. I'm thinking maybe this was a faulty laptop? Not sure but could be a possibility. Very elegant looking and light weight. Hope the issue can be fixed by HP.
