i run this laptop 2 days at a time on a video game and it does great. absolutely no space on it, though. you would want to purchase an external hardrive for much of anything. beautiful pink color i love it. it keeps a charge for about 5 hours at a time.
Just received this laptop yesterday afternoon and it came earlier than expected. I made sure to read reviews before purchasing so I was still hesitant. I bought the laptop strictly for work and school. It is very sleek and beautiful (I got the blue) and also lightweight not hefty like other laptops. The set up was actually quick and easy. Once I turned it on Microsoft had a bot walk me through everything and explain it all along the way. I dont have a Microsoft acct so I was unable to log in for that but it let me bypass that part and continue setting up very thing else up. Once on it connected to my wife immediately and there was no lagging. I tested out the internet which was actually quicker than my work computer lol. Its only been 1 day so hopefully I dont run into any issues later on. alsonas far as the heating issue I didnt have that problem either but then again my house is like 65 and it was on a glass table that was cold.
This laptop is amazing. It can multi task and it has a lot of space. It has a little less than 64 gb though. I've been playing sims on it and it works smoothly. I've streamed shows and movies and it's been amazing. Good screen res. I love it and I'm using it for school I'm September. So far it's doing okay with Zoom.
I absolutely LOVE this HP Stream laptop! The rose pink color is so pretty. The laptop is very thin and lightweight which makes it great for traveling. The set up was very easy and only takes a few minutes, the cortona feature also walks you through every step. The picture quality on this laptop is excellent. The pictures and colors are crisp and vivid. This laptop has no lagging and quickly opens any app or document. The search bar in the corner is great; you can easily find anything you are looking for with a quick search of the computer. It also comes with one year of office 365 which is an awesome bonus feature. This laptop gets great internet connection and a really impressive picture so it is perfect for streaming shows or movies. It also has a camera on it so you can video chat with friends or family easily. This laptop has everything I need! It is a very sleek design in a beautiful color. I highly recommend this laptop to everyone!
I like the size and feel of this computer. It is sleek and light. Now, to the nuts and bolts. Lots of useless software loaded on to it. That's typical. Microsoft insists you need an account with them so they can keep track of everything. They also insist you buy only from Microsoft Store. I am not big on having my options chosen for me, so I ditched Microsoft's S mode. Extremely invasive. And I don't like having to use a password to sign in. Computer was very fast to load and quickly found and implemented WIFI. No problem. It came charged, so no waiting. And the battery seems to hold its own for quite a while. Have to jump thru a few hoops to learn how to charge the battery. I really hate the Win10 setup. It's not at all for customizing easily. I've never been much on notebook keyboards and usually carry a keyboard and mouse with me when I have to work out of town. For play, or not having a lot of typing and manipulating, the keyboard is easy to get used to – there isn't a numbers section but that gives it more room. Altho I use Adobe products and they take require a lot of horsepower. With only 4 gigs; it won't be a design workhorse, but it wasn't meant to be and I don't plan on using it for anything but word processing, communications and web. But it is a perfect size to haul around when needed. It is easy to use WIFI, so can be carried for job instead of trying to read and input on a phone. I like it for what it is. A way to word process and check websites, input data, etc.
Reviewing HP STREAM 14 CELERON 4GB/64GB LAPTOP-ROSE PINK received from Walmart Spark Reviewer and I am quite impressed. This is a lightweight laptop with a very thin profile. When I 1st turned it on it immediately went into setup mode. These days that means that the computer starts to talk to you. Since the machine came loaded with Windows 10 it was the lovely voice of Cortana that greeted me asking if I was ready to personalize my Windows experience. Set up was simple; I followed the verbal prompts and went through setting up this laptop using my Microsoft Hotmail identity. 2 things I needed to do research online was to find out what Windows 10 in S mode and if the laptop had a Tablet mode. I could see on the desktop that there was a selection for Tablet Mode but I'm pretty sure this laptop did not have a touch screen so I wasn't sure how this would work. When I tried to download a non Microsoft browser (like Chrome) this system stopped me asking if I really wanted to get out of S-Mode. So I searched "What is Windows 10 S. Here is what I found: "Windows 10 S is basically Windows 10 Pro, with a locked-down configuration that makes it easier to manage and less susceptible to security and performance issues." So, I decided that I would stick to Microsoft Edge for now. Other than these 2 issues I find that this laptop is quite nice, works well and would be something that could be used by most persons without a lot of technical computer knowledge. I love the color; it's very similar to Apples' Rose Gold. For the price (about $219 US) it is a very nice deal and I would recommend it to my friends and family.
Comes with Microsoft Windows 10S which only allows MS apps (from the MS store) to be loaded and uses Microsoft Edge browser. I successfully switched off of S mode and was able to bring in the apps I prefer to work with. According to HP, general set up will take about 2 hours and may need you to reach out to HP Help. Setup is not as easy as it should be. It comes with apps which Microsoft believes you should have and getting them replaced is not a simple or quick task for general users. Replacing MS Edge takes some effort as well. Seems everything is put together to make sure you use Microsoft only and other programs cannot or will not play well with Microsoft Windows 10S. My laptop had no sound, although the programs were supposedly loaded; files where empty. I had to contact HP, they immediately told me to remove 2 program files, and replace them via a download link they sent me which corrected the issue. After you're done setting up your laptop I highly recommend you look for updates. There are a ton of updates that need to be loaded which you are not made aware of. After updating recheck your settings. I found the privacy settings I setup went back to default which allows the collection of your information on how you use your laptop. Runs slower than expected. Crashed a few times during updates. A bit heavier than other 14' laptops, this one weighs in at 3.1 pounds. Top is strong and doesn't flex when open. 13-1/4” W x 8-7/8” D x 5/8” thick closed size. There are 3 USB ports on the side, a full-size HDMI port, and SD card slot. You will only have about 30 gigabytes of usable storage on this laptop since Windows uses about 32 gigabytes. You cannot play most games on this laptop. I tested its battery life by running the laptop with email, Word, and YouTube open but not necessarily running all the time. Battery was run down after 6 ½ hrs. It took just about 2 hours to fully recharge the battery. Battery life will depend on individual use. If you're happy using only Microsoft programs and Microsoft Edge for light use, this computer should be fine, in that case I would recommend it. If there are certain programs you are wanting to install and run, check the requirements of the program to this laptops processor, resolution, and storage space to make sure it can handle it. This is a nice laptop for school, or travel, nothing fancy about it, and not expensive.
This computer is extremely slow and does not handle the most basic tasks well. I have had this computer now for a couple months and use it for basic things and am already having issues with it glitching and not loading anything. I definitely would not recommend this computer
I really wanted to like this laptop. It was pretty and pink and a manageable size. Unfortunately, the setup took so long because you have to suffer through Cortana and then you also have to figure out how to disable Microsoft s mode. This means that you have to give up your phone number and an email and do an email verification. To the extent that you have the patience to be successful with that part then you still have to get to an acceptable browser in my case I wasn't patient enough to wait for the workaround so I used Microsoft edge. I accessed my Gmail account. The computer is frustratingly slow. Then I looked at the specs and realized it has the exact same processing power as my cell phone. In fact I think it may have less. I can't see a reasonable use for this computer in my house. This might be suitable for a teen preteen who is just beginning to work with computers and word processing, but if you need more than that this is not the computer for you.
Bought this for my son for his birthday, 2 and a half weeks before. He opens it and takes it out of the box and it won't turn on. Went to initiate the return and they won't return the item because the “two week window” has expired. Not even 30 days? This gift wasn't cheap and now we are stuck with a paperweight. You all should be ashamed of yourself.
