No zipper on side to irritate my ankle. Fit is very comfortable, there my everyday work shoe, I will buy again when these wear out. They unlace to take off easy, it was hard to see that on the SMG pictures. Breathable mainly my summer boot.
These seem to be high-quality and fit well
second pair.most comfortable boot i have worn.
I almost never write reviews....but this is my second pair of these boots (I don't do Zippers) and they have hiked, hunted, cut 2000 cords of wood (yes, I said 2000) and the old pair finally wore out after 6 years. You can spend more (and I have) ....but this is the best pair of boots I have ever owned. Summer/winter...year round
To start with, the only thing I dislike about this boot is! The insole is very thin and cheap. I bought a work boot gel insole at WM and that made them very comfortable! I like the tread, it is soft rubber instead of most boots now day's, which are hard and don't get the traction that the softer rubber does. I already bought another pair while they were on sale.
The heigth is perfect, with lots of ankle support on rough ground, and they're so light in weight. I've been cutting forewood up in the snow, at a high elevation, and my feet have remained dry after hours in the stuff. If you're reading this, and you're one who has worked for hours with wet, uncomfortable feet... you need these boots, and that problem will be a thing of the past!
I never buy footwear online, because I always like to try them on first. I took a chance with these, and lucked out big time. Not only are they a perfect fit, but they took all of an hour of wearing them to break them in. They are well constructed, they have great support, and very comfortable. They are not for arctic weather, but I live in North Dakota and have been wearing them everyday with not issues. My feet have been warm and dry even in the snowy weather. I have trekked through knee deep snow in them and they are just as warm and dry as my snow boot. I will definitely buy another pair.
Would probably be better served in winter. Very comfortable, but my feet get very warm. Still great boots but I didn't realize how warm they would be. Had a similar looking pair from another mfgr that were nowhere near as warm.
Fit and finish are good. They kept my feet dry while bow hunting this past week in several downpours.
These boots appeared nice, well made but there was no way that the 8.5 were accurate for the US sizing. They were more along the lines of a 9.5 to 10! Even they they were sewn with a 8.5 label. Alot of clothing and footwear issues coming out of China lately.
