H&R Block Simple Tax Situtaions, Basic Tax Software 2020

I dont like the fact that we no longer get a cd ... we can but we have to pay extra. Not fair. The program itself is awesome. I have been using it for many many years. we are already paying the Same amount that we used to get a CD with. Please reconsider including the CD with the tax program. Thank you. We are a family of about 48. 11 of us are accountants. We take care of filing our own taxes and HRBlock software is the way to go!

Would have preferred the actual disk but the download was easy to install from the website.

Don't waste your time and money having it shipped, all you get is a box with a paper to a web site to download it and an Activation code, just buy the Downloadable version

No CD involved now. Being more waste efficient. Arrives with activation code only. Will require download.

I bought it because I assumed there was a disk enclosed -there wasn't, No indication that it is a download with a authorization number.

I have used this product for years, as a matter of fact there is currently on my system versions for tax years 2016 through 2019; but not 2020. I attempted to install it on the same system it has worked on for years, a Dell laptop running Win 10 pro with 4 gigs of memory and 638 gigs of free HD space. Well I tried for hours, I disabled everything I could think of firewall, anti-virus even UAC. Next I tried the more complex methods, I booted into safe mode with network enabled and a few other tricks, I could not get it to install and it does not return any kind of error code. So I called tech support, I was transferred 3 times and on hold 238 minutes, I spent another hour with a friendly lady whom made several suggestions all of which I had already tried but I went through the motions. She was nice, and patient but clearly over her head because she kept putting me on hold and asking for help. She finally gave up and said she was raising my case to tier 3 and I should expect a call within 48 hours. I never did. I spent more time and effort in attempting to install the software than I would have doing my taxes, NOT HAPPY!!!

Confusing. I also saved my file after being efiled, but my MAC updated its IOS and my file was lost somehow and now I can't retrieve any information, I received an email my forms had been accepted but I can't access the file and tech support was of no help. On IOS the program keeps disappearing and you have to reinstall.

I've used this Basic software for years and have always been satisfied with it. This year, after downloading and hours into my return, discovered that it no longer supported Schedule D, Capital gains, losses and carryovers from my modest investment account. Pop-up informed that I now needed the more expensive Premium version to do this. I was very unhappy.

There was no disk in the software box. Just directions on how to go on line to get software.
