H&R Block Tax Software Premium 2025 - STORE ONLY

I have used H&R Block software for several years now. I am self-employed, so have to file a schedule C and my husband gets a 1099, and we both have income from a different state than the one in which we live, so we can't do the easy return. I always find that the software leads me through the proper questions to complete the return easily. It makes filing easy and record keeping simple.

I have used this for years. It is pretty easy to use. It is confusing at times. I think the audit review process was a little frustrating. I answered the questions, but the concerns kept flagging. I did not know if I was putting in the correct information.

I use H&R because I have rental income and royalties. Works fine for FedEx and CA but doesn't put the numbers in the correct buckets for royalties in OK so I have to fill out the OK forms myself. Also the program always asks for stock info that isn't known so I have to print and mail in returns since it won't allow me to electronically file without fixing unfixable details in stocks. Asides from those two problems I wouldn't be able to do my taxes without the software.

Overall this is a very good program, although the features seem to be pared down on each iteration, especially those that use to be included, e.g. comparisons of this return with national central tendencies, that were very useful. And, too much increased dependence on references to IRS dics rather than H&R digesting these documents for common, plain English summations.

Overall, I am happy with the software. However, it would be nice if... 1) It identified downloaded 1099s as duplicates. This happens if not all forms are available the first time you download. When you re-download you get a duplicate. 2) There was a single page where you could review all the forms you entered. Maybe even allow entry on that page and let the software put them into the interview pages.

The software is pretty good but it lacks in explanations of certain categories. Basically, some of the explanations are useless and even more confusing than the actual "question". It is handy to be able to download the information from previous years especially if you have depreciation from a property or a loss carryover. Overall, it is good and I will continue to use it unless I need an accountant. I think I have used it for close to 20 years, I suppose that means I am mostly happy with it.

I purchased the program so I could electronically submit my returns. But I couldn't submit electronically. The IRS would not accept my return. I received a message that my AGI didn't match last year's. I used the program last year but submitted via USPS.

They have made it harder and harder to understand and have to go and hunt for the forms I need I instead of guiding me to the places I need to be and asking me the proper questions.. I will be trying a new company after 15 plus years of using this one .

My total New York State tax was $11,587 according to H&R Block. Just got a refund check from NYS stating that the correct taxes should be $10,428 based on the filing. NYS didn't make any corrections to my filings, just the taxes are different. Did H&R Block make a mistake?

I was very upset to learn that your financial reports download option was no longer part of your software package. I've been using your product many years. And for this not to be mentioned until I had to call the help line. And no offer of a credit or discount I thought was in poor taste. I am very sad about how you treat customers.
