H&R Block Tax Software Premium & Business 2025 for Windows (Digital Download)

Good software for the most part, although not foolproof - having some knowledge about tax policies and codes and the ability to research them is essential to getting accurate results, especially with the Business module. The biggest drawback for me is the lack of availability for use on Macs. Unfortunately, Turbo Tax is even worse.

I have been using H&R Block Premium Business software for the last 10 years. But this year I am disgusted with the idea that someone would have the same AGI that they would have the previous year. I am now retired from the corporate world, however still consulting. retired folks receive a COLA each and every year. Why would you think they should have the same AGI each year. Our income tax return was could not be accepted by the IRS because they said that my wife's AGI was not the same as it was the previous year. SHAME ON YOU!

This was the most stressful tax season of the last 20 years all due to a pending update that came out 2 days before filing day. There hasn't been any development to improve the software over the past 8 years or so - the same issues come back every year.

I've been using Taxcut/HR Block Premium or equivalent for twenty years. Previous returns are easily uploaded since the current version seeks the previous year's returns on your computer. (Note: Previous years' programs no longer function even to open previous years' returns so you must keep pdf copies to review, OTHER THAN to upload into the current year's version of the program. The Premium version for the corporate or partnership/LLC entities is usually fine for partnerships/LLC's which generate simple K-1 forms but is inadequate for C corporations, both Federal and State. (HR Block doesn't advise so but if you need to generate K-1 forms from LLC's which you are an owner for your personal returns, process the partnership/LLC returns BEFORE you process your personal returns which require the K-1 forms. It's easier to do your personal return once instead of trying to modify it later by adding the K-1 forms.) More important, HR Block has not provided enough depth to handle the issues generated in even simple Federal returns, and almost no coordination to properly file State corporate returns. The program for personal use has been adequate except that the interview writer presumes the user has some familiarity with the tax issues in each section, and the colloquial use of pronouns in the interview does not always clearly designate what the subjects and/or objects are. The most irritating issue involves the program NOT properly completing boxes in IRS Forms, requiring MANUAL ENTRIES during the error checking even when the interview SHOULD have entered the proper box on the form. Conclusion: I may try using Turbotax next year or perhaps finally give in and hire an accountant. Note: These comments are personal impressions, not professional advice of any sort.

I don't often submit reviews... and always give the vendor the benefit... But this software is very misleading. We used TurboTax for years... and only purchased this because of the advertising claims that it could import last year's returns from TurboTax . (By this, it is a reasonable assumption that is would import the files TurboTax created). Well it won't import our S-Corp files from 2024. It forces you to start from scratch and manually input everything (which is very time-consuming)! Not Happy! Advertising is very misleading: Quickly import your W-2, 1099, 1098, and last year's personal tax return, even from TurboTax and Quicken software And there is no guidance as advertised: Get guidance for, prepare, and file corporate and S-corporation tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120S) I have uninstalled and would like a refund. Nov 25, I purchases this product as I have for the past 6 years with no issues. This time I did not receive the second email with the download. I chatted with an Agent that said I needed to call H%26R Block. I did and they said because I purchase 3rd party, I had to contact with WM to help me. I chatted again with a WM agent, they so Genuinely apologized and assured me I would receive the download email within 24 hrs. 3 DAYS (72hrs) later I chatted again with a WM agent, they again said I needed to contact H%26R. I had to repeat asking to chat with a manager 3 times before they “connected” me to a manager. AFTER 30 more 20-30 more minutes they apologized and said I would receive the download within 7 days. THIS IS NOW Day 4 of 7. Still NO email with the download. Walmart customer service has degraded.

’ve used many tax programs, but H%26R Block Tax Software Premium %26 Business 2025 is easily the worst experience I’ve had. Instead of a streamlined workflow, the interface feels like ancient software from twenty years ago. It essentially functions as a glorified PDF editor; it just opens forms and asks you to manually fill them in, defeating the purpose of paying for a "Premium" service. The technical issues are inexcusable: Constant Freezing: The program stops responding at almost every step, requiring frequent restarts. Lack of Support: Customer service was a nightmare. The representatives seemed completely untrained and were unable to answer basic questions about the software's functionality. Missing Features: For a 2025 product, the lack of AI assistance and audit defense is shocking. You are better off downloading the forms for free and using a basic PDF editor. This software provides zero value and a massive amount of stress. Avoid at all costs.

They never emailed me the download. I did the chat feature, they said they would resend. it never came. I did the phone feature. They couldn't do anything, they gave me a number to call and I've been waiting for someone to come on for 8 minutes. Total scam!!!!!!!!!

Not much easier than manually entering the info on the PDF forms downloaded from IRS. Very difficult to get it to open the correct form for your return. Does not import transactions from financial institutions. Does not import from previous years Turbo Tax. Only benefit to using the software is the electronic filing. Even this is difficult to use as it is hard to tell when the return has been transmitted and accepted by the IRS.

Program was bought in order to report taxes for my wife's small dance company. Program had issues from the beginning and no one could provide a deadline of when a fix would be made and deadlines were approaching. As a result I had to use a competitor program which I find more complex for what we need. Very disappointing to see this happening. Probably will not use again.
