Amazing impact driver. I use it more than the drill it came with. The 3 torque settings are very useful. Low is good for putting screws in soft wood. Medium is what I use mostly (like for driving 3" deck screws into 2X4s). I've use high for removing and re-installing the bolts holding drive shafts on cars. It has an amazing amount of torque. With a 2 AH battery you get a relatively light tool and still can drive a lot of screws or lag bolts in place. Get a 1/4" impact socket set (metric and SAE) and it really shines working with large bolts. Very useful tool.
I have owned this impact for about 4 years or so now and it is still going strong. I really like the fact that it is lightweight but still packs a good punch. I have used it to drive 4" lag bolts, deck screws, and even to change a car tire. I was very surprised at the amount of power with this tool. I use it building retaining walls, on wood working projects, and during mechanical projects on vehicles. I find myself reaching for this tool more than I use my drill. The quick-change function makes this tool very efficient when going back and forth between different bits while working on a project. Overall, I have been highly satisfied with the power and versatile use of this product. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for their next impact driver.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm 14 and I got this for Christmas and I use legit every day for making ramps to jump my bike on and small projects around the house but it really shines when I got a job this summer on a contractors crew and I had to bring some of my own tools it can put a 9 inch lag bolt into pressure treated wood like a hot knife through butter it is a very good long lasting to that is not replaceable I used to be a Milwaukee guy but now I am a Dewalt guy I liked there products so much I but the XR cordless angle grinder and drill and plan to buy in the coming months the 1/2 inch cordless XR impact gun cannot day enough good things about this
Great impact, very powerful and compact size. Highly recommend for the price
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a tool junkie, but my budget requires me to buy only what I need. I remember the first battery powered screwdriver I purchased. Couldn't replace the battery and it failed to keep a charge within a year. It hurt to throw it away, but it sure showed me how much better an electric screwdriver was. I've purchased my share of battery powered screwdrivers over the years. All slightly better than the last. This driver purchase was a notch or two above "slightly better". Sure don't know where they can go from here. About a year ago, the last of my Sears NiCad batteries died, so I was on the hunt for a new powered screwdriver and there were a bunch available. So, I reviewed battery powered screwdrivers and found most of these reviews pretty much the same reqardless of the brand. Since I've been replacing my Craftsman tools over the years, I've found the DeWalt tools to be pretty good, even the low end tape measure. I choose the DeWalt brand of battery power screwdrivers. I'm hard to be impressed anymore, but upon my first pull of the trigger I was impressed! This tool had the power to tackle any screw. My first job was to remove an old swing set with the old style wood screws that were firmly rusted in. This tool pounded them out and I didn't have to recharge the battery half way through. In fact that was over a year ago, I'm still using the same battery. More impressive is that I don't have to charge the battery up after the screwdriver has been sitting for months. Just grab it and get to work. When I do need to charge it, I'm not waiting hours. Usually thrity minutes and I'm going aging. I was so impressed with this Impact driver, I purchsed a drill kit, then later I got the DeWalt chainsaw with I thought I would used it to buck some tree limbs, but found I could actually drop smaller trees. It was so light, I had better control then with my smaller gas power chainsaw. Lastely, I felt I was pushing the limits as I purchased the 7" circular saw. My first test of this saw was to cut a notch out of a treated 4x4s. Not fast but went right through. Sure beat getting out the extension cord and big saw. So, give this brand your first try. My son-in-law is now getting his DeWalt tool collection together after I let him use my chansaw to clear out some saplings. Passing it on.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was working on our deer lease with a friend and he had this 20V MAX impact driver and I found myself using it a lot on our project. I went straight home and told the wife I had to have one for Christmas. She bought me one and I love it. Have been using it like crazy and can't believe I went this long without one. Holds a charge great, works great and very comfortable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I work in hvac. I've tried other brands and dewalt is just more powerful in my opinion. Been through hundreds of installs and changeouts! Been dropped many times and this thing never gives up! I love it! The forward/backward/lock will sometimes get stuck in reverse but it's well used! Love dewalt products!
Great tool not many kits come with a 5 amp battery
Seller reviews is so bad after I heard that they have a sku,s/n not registered I couldn't take risk and return my order
They never sent the battery or charger !!!
