Hungry Jack Complete Buttermilk Pancake Mix and Waffle Mix, 5 Lb Box

love the flavor. Works fine as a pan-fry pancake. A cousin working with Finnish-style baked pancakes inspired me to try this as baked pancakes. I had tried HJ complete waffle microwaved in a mould and it rose nicely and tasted ok. I consulted several recipes online - the big problem was oven heat and baking time. which varied wildly. I worked out a compromise and gave it a try, expecting a major disappointment. Came through just fine but a bit dry presumed from being in the oven too long. If it could endure that it must be a good product. Box is awkward for me to use, I have to place it in the sink to reach, but even so I do wish HJ would come out with a 5-lb complete waffle mix box.

I also use this in making quick bread in the oven. I use 2/3 part of this mix to 1/3 part of a whole grain flour (wheat, rye, oat, etc., and baking powder), then just add water and stir into a thick batter. Let it stand for about 15 minutes, and it will rise. Then put into a metal loaf pan and bake at about 350 degrees. Very easy and fast to make.

My family and I buy this pancake all the time. We go through them frequently. Walmart is the only place I can find the 5lb. box. We usually get two boxes at a time. Thanks Walmart.

makes great pancakes and waffles too. I watched a video on Utube and added an egg and oil to mix for waffles. yummy!

The mix I received was busted open at the bottom. The mix was inside the delivery box, and when I opened the mix, it was inside the Hungry Jack box too.
