Yes it's a Walmart bike. Yes it has problems. But the problems were things I could look up on YouTube. so buy it it's worth it. I ride it 6-13 miles a day and it hasn't failed me yet don't listen to the one star reviews.
This a great durable budget friendly bike. Yeah the tires weren't true straight out the store but you spend five bucks to get em tried or invest a couple dollars in a spike wrench. It's not as hard as it seems. Sounds lame but Google it, you'll be surprised.
look people the bike is awesome for its price and it comes with disc brakes with shimano tourny derailers and shifters which is great....the front wheel is NOT BROKEN its just not trued.....pay 5 bucks and get it tried....im tired of seeing people cry and rate bad saying its a broke wheel lol...bike is fine
It's a bargain bike, for sure. At less than $200 it's worth it if you ever need to commute to work and don't want to drop$500-$2500 on a quality bike. It tends to stick when downshifting your triple crankset (The front cogs/chainrings) into first gear. I'd recommend keeping it in 2nd and 3rd gear and downshifting your rear cassette (cogs/chainrings). Keep it out of snow/rain to keep the rust away, the $200 price tag is because they use cheap parts that will rust. Yes, the front tire wobbles, but it's fine. The bike is capable of reaching speeds of 28mph at max speed. It handles snow very well, turning is more difficult due to the length but this bike is for tall people. It's a workhorse of a bike on a budget that will get you where you need to go and have a smooth ride. It can handle gravel, rocks, dirt, mud pretty well too - just don't bend the rim! They are very difficult to find! Recommend getting the insurance to cover your bike. (I bike 7 miles a day back and forth to work and have been doing so 2 months on this bike - mainly on sidewalks/roads but sometimes dirt, snow, and mud) PS - my bike chain rusted and broke off, if this happens to you, keep your own chain so you measure the number of links
Its a walmart bike, yes. The furst few weeks that ive had this the front rim is crooked, the brake on the front fell and the chain keeps falling other than than its a good bike.
I really liked the 26" but im 6' and was sure this would be even better for the money and newer. Right out the store the front wheel wobbled so much I feared it might fly off. Wasn't the bolts either. But im no expert on fixing these. Next the wheels are 2.3s and not 1.95s like stated in my answered question. Hard to find spares for these surprisingly. Other than that rides smooth and fast like its Jr hyper. I guess im keep it since Walmart seems to have a lot of defective bike's and I can't afford $1000 for a normal one.
Overall this is a nice bike for the price. Front disc brake with rear caliper brake. Front and rear suspension. Plenty of suspension travel for my teenage son. The only problem I have had is that the rear wheel folded like a taco after I bunny-hopped the bike one time, and I am finding it very difficult to find a replacement. The tire is 27.5", which is pretty standard, but it is a 30mm wide tire, which is not very standard. I contacted Hyper via email, Facebook, and finally via telephone. I was told that they don't have replacement wheels and that I should return the bike to Walmart. The lack of Hyper's ability to support their own product line is frustrating.
This bike is very nice but a few problems here and there. Although it isn't $5 to get your tires trued. I have looked around me and to get my tire trued it's $25 to $35. Not very fun to pay extra money when you just bought a brand new bike.
We bought this for our son this Christmas. He rode it for 20 minutes until the pedal fell off. After further inspection we discovered the crankset was stripped. So disappointing for a kid on Christmas. I'm calling in the morning to see if the company stands by their product. I'll update soon.
Nice bike but had to take to the bike shop to have the wheels run true, and the gearing and the derailer were out of line. Just started riding it and know I can't shift into certain gears and the bike pops and cracks when taking off.
