First off this is a very attractive fan. The black and tan combo looks really good, and the shroud has a diamond plate pattern. I like the thinness of it. It's almost box fan sized but moves air more like a thicker traditional type floor fan while looking much better. It requires no tools to assemble as the floor stand just pops on and there's a wire handle on the back for easy carrying. The balance is good and it's not overly noisy on high like some fans with more aggressive blades can be but still really moves some air. I took it to my camper and others were impressed with it's size, looks, and capability.
I love this fan. It's very powerful and cools me down fast. It seems very well made and even hangs on a wall with the included hardware. It's got 3 levels of power that feel like high, super high, and really really high and can be angled to point at the floor or straight up at the ceiling. The fan is a little loud which is okay for me because it helps me sleep. I also like the way it looks, much more stylish than the old box fans. Overall this is the fan for me as the weather here gets 120 degrees in the summer. It makes my old fan seem like a child's pinwheel!
We'll start with the externals. I like the handsome, rugged, industrial styling, highlighting instead of hiding hardware. I've gone through more than a few cheap box fans and find that the plastic parts break. This beauty is all steel, so it stands up to hard use. And I never thought I really cared about color, but the black and tan model I have just looks smart. It moves a lot of air, a little loud at full speed, but when you need full blast, it's great. I have found that I am less tempted to dial down the AC so long as the air is moving. The control for on/off and the three speeds is flush to the back of the fan and does not look like it will break, unlike a few other fans I've gone through. I love the tilt function – aim it anywhere from sideways to straight up to drive circulation for the entire room. Another great feature--a detachable stand for storage or wall mount. The instructions make it clear that children should not be left unsupervised with it, but the gaps in the sturdy wire guards on front and back are less than 1/2 inch, so accidental contact with the fan blades seems unlikely.
First off, the black/sandstorm (which I guess is just a tan/beige) is a great color combination. I also really like the truck bumper design pattern on the outer shell. It's narrow, about 3" at the outer shell with about a 5" overall thickness not counting the floor stand. The only other fan I have to compare this to is some ProStandard floor fan I bought decades ago. The Kool-Flo fan is well balanced with no vibration at all on even the highest speed. I included a photo of the old ProStandard fan and the Kool-Flo after running on high for just a few minutes. The ProStandard had already turned nearly sideways because of vibration. The Kool-Flo is perfectly stable. They both move about the same amount of air with the same amount of noise. The Kool-Flo is a way better balanced fan. The power cord is six feet in length with a three-prong plug. Motor has thermal protection. I am not using the wall mount but it seems kind of ingenious given its simplicity. Anchor it well and it would work fine, especially since it is so well balanced at higher speeds. I may yet put the wall clip near a basement window.
The Kool-Flo High Velocity Drum Fan is a powerful cooling device. It has three settings on a knob at the back and measures 20-inches diameter. Even the low setting is high-power and cools immediately. As a matter of fact, I don't see why you'd need to use either the medium or high setting because the low one is more than enough to cool a large space. It is relatively lightweight and has a handle at the top for easy carrying. The Kool-Flo High Velocity Drum Fan can also be mounted on the wall and comes with brackets and screws to do that. A simple 4-page instructions sheet is included in the box and it is very straightforward. Absolutely love this fan and would recommend purchasing it if you have a space that needs serious cooling.
Best metal fan!! I use it at night and it definitely blows. I haven't had to use it on high! Look no further if your looking for a fan especially if you sleep with one on!!
This high velocity fan really moves some air. It's a large size but narrow. This is perfect for circulating air through your home. It's high power is a bit loud but perfect for a hallway or on a covered patio. I plan on using this a lot to keep cool this summer. It's also very stable.
This is a rugged 3 speed metal high velocity drum fan with many possible uses. Although the description specifies a wall mount this unit can be used on the floor as pictured. Ships with the mounting bar detached but that just snaps in easily and there is a J mount bracket kit included for single point wall mounting. I'm using this as a wind machine placed in front of my stationary bike to keep cool. Puts out a lot of wind but there isn't a real quiet low speed setting. I usually have headphones on listening to music when I'm spinning on my stationary bike so not a concern for me. This fan is all metal construction and quite heavy. Once you position the mounting bracket and tighten the two side nuts it stays put with no concern about tipping over.
All I can say is wow this fan has lots of power. Comes with a wall mount and is very secure. The cage Holes around the blades are small enough that a two year old can't get their little fingers in and access the blades. Although the fan has some noise to it it's just wind noise as the fan is fairly quiet and has 3 speeds. Owners of this fan will be happy with it's performance. I don't think it is intended for use in a bedroom or other such living space.
This fan has several pros: It's well made, easy to clean, and puts out the cooling air. There is one con: It will deafen you! My recommendation for this fan is that it is best suited for garages and workshops where ear protection is already in use or outside use in a greenhouse or patio. It works really well to put out air but do not think you can use this indoors. I am using it in our garage where the Arizona temps are blistering in the summer. If you need it for that purpose, it is a great product!
