They worked nicely for the project I needed
Used before it works for me
Easy to install. Very strong.
I am a Spark Reviewer for Walmart and was sent a free package of 9 Hyper Tough Removable Adhesive Hooks with 9 strips to review. The hook backing is clear in a diamond shape and the hook itself if of a silver color with an outward tilt to the hook to make it easy to hang items. The hook is also hinged so you can tilt it up to help hang items like a wreath. The prep for using the hooks is to simply wash the area gently with isopropyl alcohol and to let dry. Then to center the adhesive strip and remove the back paper first and adhere to wall, then to remove the front paper strip and affix the back of the clear hook holder to it. Then wait an hour before hanging anything on it. Removing is easy by pulling down on the lower portion of the tab and it releases the adhesive. From my pictures you can see I took out a nail and put the hook near where the nail was. I know I should have stuck it over the nail opening, but this was just a test and I honestly didn't think it would hold, but It easily held my set of keys in one picture and the other is of a kitchen utensil. I can easily see using these in many areas of my home and garage to hang smaller items without having to put in nail holes in the walls. Each hook has a weight limit of 1 pound, so you must keep that in mind for what you are planning on hanging. The draw backs to these adhesive hooks are you cannot apply them to wallpaper or laminated surfaces so that does limit them a bit. The only other downsides that I can see is the pack comes with 9 hooks and 9 adhesive strips so if you make an error you will end up using an additional adhesive strip leaving you short one later. I would like to know if they make any packs of just the adhesive strips so I could reuse the hooks after taking them down.
It seems to stick fine and I like that it's clear plastic. The metal hook stayed put once it clicked in (the "name brand" hooks are loose and that's inconvenient when trying to grab stuff hung on the metal hook). The adhesive strips have a convenient pull tab at the bottom for easy removal. I will replace all my other similiar hooks with these. I do think the instructions need bigger print and the B&W photos need greater contrast to be helpful.
These were economical relatively and easy to install. One of seven fell off my smooth surface weeks later, so I'm not sure about the strength of the glue. I just have light plastic measuring cups on the hooks.
Product received in exchange for honest and unbiased review. I live in an apartment so I'm always hesitant about hanging pictures with regular picture hangers that are nailed into the wall. These are silver hooks that are fastened to a clear, colorless acrylic backing that is then fastened to an adhesive strip which has previously been stuck on the wall. Word of advice, make sure the wall is cleaned first with alcohol to remove any surface grease because otherwise they won't stick and will come off the wall. Once cleaned, however, they do seem to be durable. There are 9 hooks and strips, all of which I used for jewelry and scarves, all lightweight. I did try one by my stove upon which I hung a moderately heavy spatula. I don't know if it was too close to the stove and the heat weakened the adhesive, causing the spatula everything to fall. I can't fault the company for that since it does say in the fine print instructions, not to use near heat. I would have given this product a five star rating but nowhere on the package could I find weight restrictions.
It keeps coming off the wall.
Falls down. Doesn't stick well.
Everything was fine with installation. I even hung more than the 1 lb maximum weight that was recommended and the hook stayed in place. It was in the process of removing the hook that things went array. It is very difficult to pull down. It was so hard to pull, plus there was limited leverage to grip the short tab that I ended up not pulling down as straight as the directions specified. I must have pulled outward because it suddenly ribbed off the wall and with it came the paint! Maybe if they made the pull tab longer it might help or I used pliers for a better grip but in the future I'm sticking to nailed in hooks. The nails are so narrowl that any hole can easily be filled in with caulk. A lot of work is going to have to be done to repaint my door so it blends in well.
