I use this to turn my lights on my deck in the evening. It is easy to set the duration of the power!

Love that this will turn on light whenever dusk occurs, rather than having to adjust a regular timer as sunset changes, yet unlike a dusk to dawn switch, you can set several different run time lengths.

This was a great purchase for my outside lights for my porch. Easy to install, just plug in and set the timer. Works just fine. I recommend it.

I just received the Hyper Tough Outdoor Dust to Dawn Timer. I have never used an outdoor timer that automatically came on at dusk and off at dawn. Because the time of dusk and dawn vary throughout the year, it is nice that this timer can sense dusk and dawn. With this timer, it goes on at dusk and you can decide to have the lights go off 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours after dusk, or have the lights on dusk to dawn. Right now, we only have our lights on at dusk and off 4 hours after dusk. I wanted to try all the different options. I'm finding it's coming on as soon as it starts getting dark and going off exactly 4 hours later. I've tried the two-hour option and it worked fine, too. I think I'll be doing the dusk to dawn option from now on, though. This one only has a single outlet. So, I'm only able to use it on my front lights. I truly like this timer. If you have outside lighting, I'd highly recommend this timer.

Great for Christmas light or pathway lights very easy timer to use

This timer works excellent , but I have it located on the shady side of my house and behind hedges and it turns on my outdoor accent lights on an hour or so before sunset. I have it set to turn off in eight hours, and that works for me.

I received the Hyper Tough Outdoor Grounded Dusk to Dawn Timer, 1 Outlet. This is a nice tool to use for lighting or outdoor decorations. I would suggest reading the instructions before using this item. A key point about the timer, is that it needs to be mounted in a vertical position. There is a mounting hole on the back of the timer. The receptacle (the end with the three holes) will need to point downward. Another point about this electric timer, you will need to keep it dry. It can not be exposed to water, rain or snow. There are several different optional ways the timer can be set. You have the On and Off setting. There are settings for 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, and 8 hours. At dusk, the timer will stay on for the specified amount of time. Or, you could use the dusk to dawn setting. The timer has a photocell that detects when it is light or dark outside.

This HyperTough dusk to dawn timer was a disappointment. I wanted it for the rope lights around the porch at my cabin. There is a dial with several settings, which was nice to have options but pointless when they didn't work correctly. The first night I had it I set it to dusk to dawn. The lights never came on. I check it periodically throughout the night and nothing. The eye sensor is kind of small but it is pitch black at my cabin so I figured it wouldn't matter. The next day I tried to adjust where the eye was pointing just in case and still nothing. The instructions said the timer should be mounted so I tried propping it up against the porch the next day and it finally worked. The next night I tried using the 2-hour timer and guess what......nothing! At this point, I am frustrated and tired of messing with it.

Worked perfectly for a short time but then stopped working completely.

non-functional out of the box. red light comes on but nothing works when plugged in. tried in outdoor outlet and indoor . does not pass power through under any setting.
