I bought this beast of a power strip last November because my house looked like a disco during the holidays and I needed a way to keep the twinkling chaos under control. Assembly was basically a single click of the plug into the wall and a hopeful sigh; there were no cryptic screws or hex keys hiding in a tiny plastic bag. The cord is long enough to reach the farthest outlet without turning the living room into a knotty obstacle course, and the 9-inch length feels like a generous handshake from a friendly electrician. The real hero is the timer perched on the top like a tiny digital butler. I've tried separate timers that vanished into the abyss of the junk drawer, and I've even tried old kitchen timers that beeped like a startled goose. This built-in timer actually stays put, displays the countdown clearly, and lets me set the on/off schedule with a few taps that feel as smooth as a swipe on a smartphone. No more hunting for that separate device under the couch; it's all integrated, which is a huge win for my sanity. Using the three-pronged outlets is a breeze. Each receptacle feels solid, and the 15-amp rating gives me confidence that even my elaborate light display, complete with flashing snowmen and a programmable reindeer choir, won't trip the circuit. The grounded outlets add a sense of safety that makes me feel like I'm not just plugging in decorations, but also protecting the neighborhood from an accidental fireworks show. The instructions are surprisingly readable. Instead of a wall of tiny print that looks like a secret code, the manual is a one-page cheat sheet with clear diagrams and a friendly tone that says, "Hey, you got this!" I managed to set the timer without calling my tech-savvy cousin, which is a personal triumph. Design-wise, the strip is sleek enough to hide behind a bookshelf or a mantle without screaming "industrial power hub". The matte black finish blends nicely with the holiday decor, and the timer's LED glow is subtle enough not to compete with the Christmas lights themselves. All in all, this strip has turned my holiday light fiasco into a well-orchestrated light show that turns on at dusk and powers down at bedtime without me having to remember to flip a switch. If you've ever wrestled with separate timers that go missing or flicker like a dying candle, this all-in-one wonder will save you time, sanity, and probably a few extra strands of tinsel. Five stars for making my house look festive without turning me into a full-time electrician.
This grounded stake timer was simple and reliable for over a month straight when utilizing it to manage our outdoor Christmas lighting and inflatables. All six 3-prong outlets were used and we experienced zero issues with this timer. The stake design makes it convenient to install directly in the yard, and the color makes it blend in with the ground. Overall, it's a great option for the price, reliable, and I would purchase this item again.
I looked for a simple manual timer for cold and wet NJ winters, and this is it. I like that I can set the exact times. Don't care that it's not smart, not solar, and not 2-4-6-8 hours.
After purchasing that we bought another one for the house covered our whole house one so now we're using the next one and a tree
These timers actually work, which is a relief after going through several sets of timers that did not work. However, these timers seem to be off by a few minutes. Do you know what a minute is? I don't think you do! Other than 5:30 being 5:21 according to these timers, they work great.
Works great, although the dial timer setting was slightly confusing.
Reduction of 1st star because Walmart offers a 2 year and 3 year warranty on the Hampton Products International, Hyper Tough Outdoor Stake Timer when the Specifications online at Walmart.com state FULL LIFETIME WARRANTY. The link to https//www.hampton.care/ on the Walmart site doesn't automatically connect. Inputting the information online gives a website but clicking on it gives the warning 'Unsupported Protocol - The client and server don't support a common SSL protocol version or cipher site. Reduction of 2nd star because the one sheet of paper in the box doesn't identify the manufacturer or any information on the warranty. Otherwise physically I really like the unit. The outlets 3 on each side allow for wider plugs left to right but not up or down. The outlet covers are spring loaded which keeps them closed when nothing is plugged in. Same thing, spring loaded, with the clear top. I really like the unit compared to the 2 or 3 plug horizontal type. This one is a replacement for a 2-plug unit that failed quickly, after a few years. My concern is this unit fails in a couple years or decades and Walmart and Hampton Products International will shrug and not honor the warranty. Granted we are talking about a $20 unit, but money is money, and a Lifetime warranty is a Lifetime warranty only if you can prove it ever had one and if the seller and manufacturer honor the Lifetime warranty.
Really short cord so we actually had to stick it in a raised planter because it wouldn't reach the ground. It worked well but it doesn't feel sturdy enough to last multiple years. I recommend for the price but personally will be looking for a longer term option for us
The box came open, but even then I could not get it to work.
The time socks big time !!!!
