Look, if I can put this together, anyone can! I'm 55 with a bad back, hand tremors and no patience. I put it together in 15 minutes. It is big, sturdy, and fits perfectly in my utility room to hold all of my crockpots because yes..I need them all! I bought bins for under $3 each to hold small things like waffle irons, immersion blenders, etc, that I don't use every day. I still have two shelves left to fill. It's giving me space to breathe in my kitchen and is EXACTLY what I was looking for!
Shelves were fairly easy to put up. For the money it's not to bad. But the sturdiness is not as good as they'd have you believe. I find the individual wires can be bent if you try hard enough with your hand. But if you put thin plywood over it or have things in baskets that would help distribute weight to have strength for heavier items.
It was fairly easy to put together, but there’s no markers as to how high up each shelf should be (which is good if you need something adjustable). I found counting 9 rings up for the first shelf and roughly 14 rings in between each other shelf made it even.
This product is no longer available through other sites I have purchased them on before. I was so happy Walmart had them and the closest item to this is at Home Depot for DOUBLE the price currently. Everything has gone up so much and Walmart continues to offer competitive pricing.
this is my most recent metal shelving rack. It's been several years since i purchased my last couple of sets. i noted that although sturdy, the overall weight and strength of this shelving rack is definitely less than the older units. But, i have no doubt it will suffice for my needs and meet its weight specifications. The finish and fit were very nice, and the unit assembled quickly and easily. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase. it was delivered intact and a couple of days early.
Easy to put together. Holds a lot of weight and not shaky or wobbly at all. We've bought two of these for our business and they've worked out great so far. I wouldn't exactly call the price an amazing deal but you do get what you pay for with this item.
They weren’t the cheapest shelves we could find, but the price for the value was hard to beat. One person assembled two of them in less than 20 minutes. The feet don’t make it feel completely steady, but as long as you have them on fairly level surfaces, it’ll be fine.
I have assembled many of these wire shelves. Assembly is straightforward and fairly simple. The shelves are not heavy-duty but are substantial. Keep the heavier items to the sides closest to the legs and on the lower shelves. Have a rubber mallet for setting the shelves. A tape measure and before setting the shelves ensures that your items fit. I purchased wheels for the shelves so that I can easily move the shelves. The bottom shelf should not be placed above 12" as the legs may buckle under heavy weight.
The shelves were packed as typical for this part (I've purchased similar Hypertough shelves before). Packaging was undamaged aside from minor markings. Some shelves were bowed about 1/8" in several places, still usable but not appreciated. Assembly was typical. ===== Issue: the tubes used to be universal. Old style: any tube could be top tube or bottom tube, both ends of each tube were threaded. New style: the top tubes do NOT have threads on both ends. The bottom tube now has a threaded insert pressed into one end. You cannot decide. So, if you bugger the threads, you cannot flip the tube to being the tube being the top tube (where you push in the cap). Each threaded tube has only one threaded end. I'd say overpriced.
I have purchased two units that were $20 more expensive than this brand. I'll pay the extra $20 in future. I use these in my pantry and laundry rooms. This shelf would be great in a garage or shed, but not inside. There were many burrs/rough places on the shelves and uprights which caught on my sheets and blankets. I placed this unit in my shed to store my totes and seasonal items. i would recommend if using for outdoor or utility stuff. not for things that can be ripped open or snagged.
