Good after knee surgery, like the ability to plug it in and use it, doesn't do as much cooling on the patella tendon as I want and nothing for the back. If you get surgery and want one it's not bad but regular ice packs and a friend to get up and grab them is about the same. Will probably use when I get back to full blown activity to help with swelling

So I ordered the Hyperice X, and after using the device for the first time my Knee felt Great. I had a total of 7 more sessions in a two week period on the Contrast Therapy mode, and I haven't had any more knee problems since. My wife even used it and couldn't believe the results. I have been dealing with some patellar femoral knee pain. I purchased this because I know someone who has had knee issues and it's been a game changer. I can say from experience it's one of the best recovery devices I have ever used. I use the contrast therapy for post workouts and I feel it works. Its unique speed and consistency of changing from cold to hot multiple times is so valuable. The app has a ton of features I have not had a chance to use yet. I can say for certain it's a great piece of equipment. My only criticism is, the battery only lasts about 1 hour. So I'm charging it more than I would like. Overall I would recommend 10 out of 10!

I was a bit skeptical when first purchasing this due to the price, but after getting hit by a vehicle and sustaining bad knee issues, I figured I would try whatever it takes. Let me tell you this thing is totally worth it! It helps me recover after workouts, Helps me feel refreshed and ready for a workout and also helps me wind down and relax at night loosening up any tension or pain that is in my knee. It is pretty user-friendly with the app and self-explanatory. I watched a couple YouTube videos prior to using just to make sure I fully understood it. Of course, my only complaint would be that the battery doesn't last long but with all the other perks I just make sure I keep it charged just as a person would their phone every night.

I fell while sprinting on tile and landed on my knee. Three months later there was still swelling, stiffness, and scar tissue. I've been using this device for a few weeks and feel like it has been an integral part in the improvement I've had since doing the contrast therapy routines. It hurt so bad to even roll from one side to the other in bed and I couldn't put any weight while kneeling on the injured knee. Now, I still have a ways to go but I am SO much more active than I have been since I got hurt. I've been telling everyone I know about this including my physical therapist. She started showing the other physical therapists because she was so impressed with the cooling. Not to mention… it is ONE device for heat and cold therapy and I don't have to be connected to an outlet. I have a long commute on a highway and wear my hyper x while using cruise control on my way to home and work. Also, you can use it for only heat, only cold therapy, or both for each session. Do yourself a favor and buy this!

Great product with cool features and app to control the unit. I had a total knee replacement (TKR) and didn't have the luxury to take 8-12 weeks off of work. Thus needing something to provide relief while away from home. I was using gel ice packs while driving or in meetings to get the relief needed from swelling throughout the day. The hyperice X is a great alternative while driving (not in meetings due to the fan noise) to provide relief from swelling. It is also good to use while sitting on the recliner (away from my iceman) after dinner for a quick cool down. The cooling is great, it has 5 pads (wish they were connected or overlapped) where l the cold spots are. I found that moving the brace slightly left or right about 10 minutes in helps spread the cooling. The downfall (and was mentioned in a review) is the battery life and the time required to charge the unit after it goes dead. I was shocked on the time required to charge. I've gotten 3-20 minute ice (coldest setting) on a charge. I wouldn't pay full price for this product, due to the battery life, cooling pads, and noise it puts out. I feel getting this on a flash sale on Expert voice was worth what I paid for it. The other issue is you can't walk around as the weight of the battery pulls it down the shin area.

I feel like this piece of revolutionary equipment is so close to being great but they feel just short in their design. I feel that I am of average height at 5' 11", but even for me it feels as though it doesn't wrap well and therefore doesn't function well below the kneecap because of the design. The whole thing needs to be a bit longer with possibly one more heating/cooling cup and then it would function much better. Stil a great product though.

I wanted this to be so much more but with how quickly the battery drains (2-3 cold sessions) you almost have to be tethered to an outlet defeating the purpose of convenience. Now, I am impressed of how cold/warm it gets but the fit is not great if you actually want to walk around with it like the advertising suggests. I've used this for my own knee aches, and tried to hack it to us eon my daughter's broken foot. The price is pretty steep and I'm just not sure the value is all the way there (yet).
