Plastic but good quality. I.d. badge fits snug in slot. I was concerned it may slip out, but that's not the case for me. It was a good purchase for me. Inexpensive and American made.

It is exactly as described..I just need more compartments.. The protection was foil that was not permanently placed, and with that I was disappointed .
