iDesign Carbon Charcoal Filter Replacements for Compost Bin, Set of 4

We live in the country and are on an aerator (we are not on a sewer); therefore, we do not have a garbage disposal, as most things that go into a disposal you do not want in your aerator. Therefore, I purchased the compost bin for raw garbage. You can either bury the garbage collected in the bin or put it in the weekly pick-up trash, which is what I do. The bin uses carbon charcoal filters which totally prevent any smell; and you purchase small plastic bags to fit in the bin for the garbage. I have washed the filters; however, it is best to replace them when needed. The filters last a long time. Just be careful to not overfill the bin. The metal compost bin is attractive and can sit on your kitchen counter as there is no odor whatsoever with the filters in place. There are two filters, i.e. a square filter that goes into the lid first followed by a larger round filter that fits in grooves in the lid. The filters can be purchased when needed. The carbon filters make this a very efficient compost/garbage bin. Has worked great for me for years.

Composting has been a hobby of mine for many years. I use to keep a pail under rhe sink and rhrow any food scraps in there but the smell after a few days was horrible. With this trusty compost pail ths stink is gone thanks to these Filters. It is easy to insert them into the can and you get double filtration with 2 layers. No more stinkies under the sink. The can doesn't hold a lot but I can go 2 days easily before I have to empty it. I expect my vegies will be extra healrhy with all the fresh compost. It is a tiny investment with a healthy return. I recommend these to anyone!!

I like how this filter helps keep the odor out of our kitchen. We use our compost bucket a lot and don't want the onion smell to eek out and fill the room with a bad scent.

This item was only the replacement filters for a stainless steel compost bin, which I do not have. However, I rigged up these charcoal filters on the underside of my corrugated steel bin lids, and they seem to be functioning very well. It's amazing how you realize just how badly the compost smells, once the smell is gone. I would very much recommend these charcoal filters. They work wonders for tamping down the stench of rotting biomass.

These really helped keep the stank out of the kitchen with the summer heat. Cut down the fruit fly attraction to the compost bin, too The four round filters are about a quarter inch thick and the square filters are about a half inch thick. Mine took the round. The instructions say to replace them every six months. Will have to wait to see if the filters actually work that long. So far, so good!

I used these for my diaper pale to see if they could hold In the smell and they did! Comes in two different sizes a circle and square. I cut them to the size I needed. I also put them in my regular trash can to help with smell. They have worked wonders!
