After spending some energy to obtain the application for my android phone, I found the program to be well conceived, the instructions accurate and as long as your unit is initially charged (or connected to the power) everything moves along well. The camera itself is amazingly clear. Highly recommended
We are very pleased with our recent purchase of our ieGeek outdoor security camera. The security camera itself and the Cloud Edge app provide many user options in an intuitive, straight-forward manner. The solar panel is an outstanding addition to the package, insuring that you don't need to bring the camera inside to charge it. We have used the camera to view our front sidewalk, but also to look for animals in our yard both at night and in the morning and have been very successful! We would definitely recommend this camera to anyone interested in a reasonably priced, well-built and good performing outdoor security camera. Thumbs up!
The Solar Panel had all the hardware needed to install it. There was plenty of cable to place the Solar Panel to get to the Camera and the connection was very secure and water tight. Solar Panel installation was easy and it’s operating exactly like it should be and keeping the Camera battery charged to full. No worries about frequently taking camera down.
So far, these seem to be really great security cameras that do everything they say. I have a 128GB chip in one of them but I haven't tried the record feature yet. These are a big step up from the fixed security cameras we currently have be they can swivel up and down and move 360°. The 360° movement that is controlled from your smart phone basically seems like the equivalent coverage of 3 fixed cameras. Setup was very easy even though the instructions are fairly minimal (but simple). To charge a camera without solar you can use your phone charger, which all the ones we have match the 5 volt requirement. Synching the camera to your wifi using the Smart phone app (I used the ieGeek app) was so simple and fast, very easy and worked immediately. The app does almost everything for you. Picture on camera is great but set it to QHD setting for more sharpness. I can't seem to think of any drawbacks with these two cameras so I gave it the highest ratings. I hope the solar panels last.
I already have an ieGeek PTZ camera and needed another so I opted for the one with a solar charger so I did not need to charge it every 4-6 months. Quality of images and video are very good. Both daytime and nighttime. Video is quite smooth. Data is encrypted and ieGeek provides 7 days of cloud storage free which is fantastic since I hate paying subscription fees. I have it installed overlooking our backyard and deck. I had no issue with the WiFi signal even though the camera is about 50’ away from my router. In the app I can mask off areas that I do not want to trigger an alarm such as a neighbor’s house etc. After I set them both, the camera provides a small spotlight and siren when an event is triggered. The recording is on movement so it does not do continuous or periodic recording. This saves memory but sometimes I would like the time lapse capability. That may be available on the paid subscription cloud version but I do not use that. A couple of things I would love to see added in the future is IFTTT integration so I can trigger external floodlights or control via Alexa, and access from a laptop, but that may come later. Overall, I am very impressed with the product.
these are really easy to set up and connect to the only issue I seem to be having is if the solar panels don't charge the camera goes off line you have to take them down and manually charge them
Overall, I have to say I am impressed. Set up is easy, the camera works well, and the motion detection is sensitive. Connection to a phone via Wi-Fi is necessary for set-up, and operation – but once set up is complete and a phone is paired, you can receive alerts through your phone, even when not on the same network. Using the camera does not require a subscription, which is an added bonus. (A cloud storage account is available for keeping historical data beyond what the SD card can hold is available). Pros: Excellent image resolution capture, even at night without lights. Choice to get color images at night. Ability to check monitored space remotely and change camera angle directly from the phone, as well as initiate recording at any time. Numerous options for alarms; none, 2 min, 5 min, and 10 min intervals. Ability to change alarm settings to include voice (you can speak through the camera), lights, and alarm sound. In addition, you can also turn the red recording light on or off, which is helpful to keep the camera low-key to potential intruders. Solar panel charging: biggest plus – as it allows use of the camera in areas where plug-ins are not available. Notifications to phone when camera has recorded, and easy navigation of historical data. Solar panel function to battery works well. I set the panel underneath a porch awning facing SW and even with overcast conditions the battery charge has not dipped below 85% within a week. Ability to check numerous cameras at once from App dashboard. SD storage - I use a 32G card, which started with 29.5G of available storage, after a week of use still I have 28G available for image storage. The card will automatically re-write itself deleting older images. Cons: Instruction manual leaves a bit to be desired. It does not include detailed outlines of camera interface functions or app dashboard. The App interface takes a few minutes of navigation to understand, including the capture setting options – having a walk-through or instructions within the included manual would be helpful. I would recommend using your own screws for the mounting, as the ones included with the kit are rather short. The solar panel arm is flimsy. I had to prop mine against existing infrastructure. You can fix this with tape or glue. However, I found this surprising considering the camera hardware and mount were much more substantial and well-made. An SD card is not included with the camera, which is unfortunate as these can be had for minimal cost. However, this is about a $10 purchase. Bottom Line: For the price, this is a relatively low-cost solution for a security camera. The cons are not insurmountable, with a little time one can easily figure out the camera settings and App navigation. Video does take a moment to ‘load’ for viewing as it is transferred through a Wi-Fi connection to your phone, but that is to be expected. I most liked that this is a product that does not require additional subscriptions to use.
disliked y ou have too keep taken down ever 4-6 days too keep them charged up i can't keep getting someone too clame a ladder too keep them charged up. the charge don't last long at all
very slow to connect. GUI could be improved. the solar panels are as small as a paperback and are rubbery . christ i pray they dont flake out and catch fire . .the quality of the video is just like all the others. looks good on a phone, not on a PC lcd . theres only one way to mount these. on a vertical surface. the mics and speakers however are realatively better than the Tiejus. i dont recommend.
camera instructions have a lot to be desired and if you want more than 6 seconds of recording you have to buy the cloud I'm already having troubles with them they don't charge and I have them connected properly it's already past the 30 days warranty or I would return them and get my money back don't buy waste of money
