keeps drinks cold and very well built
Much improved from the old Igloo 72 qt I had for many years. Handles much sturdier, latch better and hinges better. And the cooler is lightweight. Fits in my small boat perfectly and has been christened with trout and redfish.
Nice cooler! Replaces a very old Igloo cooler! Keeps items very cold!
Fits perfect under the leaning post in my small center console! Pretty much the entire reason I got it but it's great.
I have bought well over 20 of these to ship heavy tools around the country.
It's a lot lighter than I was expecting. The handles have a bendy rubber ribs on it that are comfy to carry. You can also pick it up without the handles. The latches are on/off pretty easy. Can't speak to durability or longevity of ice because I haven't had it that long. Seems to be good quality and made in the USA.
This is my second one first one lasted forever. I like the weight.
The only way to lift the lid is to pull on the latch. That is just adding extra wear and tear to the only thing closing the cooler. They have a hand cutout on other models but not this one. Also when adding a cushion to the top it becomes extremely top heavy and unless the lid is propped up against something the cable holding the lid will rip out of the plastic and become useless. The handles are weak, with only a few pounds of ice and half a dozen cans, the handles feel like they are straining. I've had this cooler for two seasons on our boat and it already looks pretty bad.
I just bought it, and I'm suspicious of the *design* of this cooler. Unlike almost every other cooler, this one does not have a built-in area under the lid where you can naturally place your fingers so as to open the lid. It appears as if Igloo designed this so that you have to grab the front *latch* and use that as a handle so as to open the lid. Strange. Not only does it seem "unnatural" to do, but worse yet: the front latch is held onto the lid by 2 small screws. Seems so obvious that within a short time those screws may pull out from the lid, which is where they're screwed into. Then there will be no front latch and no easy way to even open it. It's frustrating.
