IGLOO Playmate Elite 16 qt. Hard Cooler - Red

I purchased my 7 quart cooler in 1973 when I started driving trucks. It has seen lots of use and abuse over its life time. It has always kept things cold no matter the time of year. During the winter months it keeps my drinks from freezing and in the heat of the summer it keeps things cold. After all these years it's a little worse for wear, but still does it's job. My wife tried to get me to replace it several times over the years, but I always went back to my trusted red and white cooler.

This was bought to replace a cooler of a similar size to hold crushed ice at our church convention. This way folks can scoop ice from this for their drinks between meals %26 not actually get into the ice maker. The price was reasonable, it shipped quickly, %26 I adore free shipping!

I use this for my hubbies lunch pale..and he forgot his at work and going to a new job the next week we had to wait to get his cooler back. so I purchased another..he carries ice pack in summer and drinks since there is none on job. and plenty of food so if he works over he can have a snack at end of day or share with someone..the coolers have been wonderful to have plenty of room but not to big and locks closed.

Wasn't packaged well for shipment. It was shipped with manufacturers box which is made to hold two units. Since I ordered one unit and there was no additional packing material, the unit slid around the box and shows scuff marks as a result. Unit: When lid is opened (it slides), it rubs on the lower section. But it still works ok.

Great price but does not stay as cool as other coolers I have owned in the past, this is due to the fact that the top has no insulation. I do love the one hand open design.

I specifically ordered the blue Igloo because of the red lettering. I received the blue Igloo with blue lettering. This is false advertising. What I ordered is not what I received. I emailed the seller and waiting to hear back. They go for $30 and I paid $50 because the red lettered ones are sold out everywhere else. I feel like I was scammed. I will not trust this seller to ever do business with them again.

Ordered blue and received a ugly grey color

The cooler was delivered in a (wet, smelly) box that was twice the size of the cooler. The box appeared to be an afterthought for shipping. The cooler did arrive in one piece but it looked like it had been through a war. It had more scuff marks on the lid then the one I have owned and used for the past ten years. I would have returned it that day for a replacement, but I needed it for a recent camping trip and there was no time to reorder a new one. If you buy this cooler, buy it in a store. Do not allow them to ship it to you or you will have no idea what condition it will be in when you receive it.
