We are using this feeder for a porch cat that has been with us for two months now. With this feeder we are able to feed him four times a day. This way he consumes his food so leftovers do not sit around and attract other animals or bugs. Battery back up is great as it retains program settings during outages or accidental disconnects from power. Even a raccoon could not get to the food inside the feeder. Once tame enough to take to the vet we hope to have him join our indoor/outdoor cats inside at night.
Full disclosure, i currently work for Walmart, but in no way does that affect this review. This item is amazing. Multiple feeding times available, but you determine how many to use. Portion control was easily adjustable. I do wish the plug-in cord was a bit longer. Do note, must use small to medium size kibble, or it does not work in the feeder. There is a size chart on the top of the feeder that you can use.
I bought two of these, one for my inside cats and one for the outside cats. The item was very easy to put together. It is easy to refill when needed. The camera works well. I can monitor and talk to my cats when I have a break at work. They have begun to come to the food bowl when I call their names. I could not believe this works so well for the small amount of money. This does not work by battery power. However, I believe the batteries being in there keep it from going offline when I bring it inside. I bring it in every night because of the raccoons and other animals that venture up on our back porch. I love this!
This was very easy to assemble and adjusting the time and schedule was easy as well. My cat comes running when he hears the food coming out. I did have to adjust the schedule a little so that he didn't get too much but he has really enjoyed knowing that he doesn't have to follow me around begging for food.
Other than the directions being slightly sketchy, it was pretty much a breeze to set up. I've only been using it for a few days but I don't foresee any issues. You will probably have to play with the portion sizes to get what you need for your cat, as the portion sizes do seem pretty small. Other than that I think it's a good product.
So far so good. Easy set up, just follow the instructions. Instructions that are included are decent. It's like an auto coffee maker with a couple of extra steps for meal time(s) and portions of food. Do test out the portions once it is dispensed. I did this because my fatty cat is on a diet. I got this to avoid getting up at 4 am to feed my "FEED ME NOW!" meowing cat. UGHH I have it plugged in, no batteries. Small kibble so the flow/dispensing is not blocked from reading the reviews.....Pretty simple.
We have a cat with food anxiety. The idea is to transfer his obsession to the machine instead of his humans - who can be bullied or might be a couple of minutes late. The feeder was easy to set up once I actually read the instructions. It has been spot on and reliable so far. The variable portion setting and up to 6 feedings is perfect for what we're doing. It is also unexpectedly quiet. We have the regular metal feeding bowl inside the provided plastic bowl so that it will make enough noise for the cat to hear from other rooms. He will eventually get the schedule, I'm sure. Also nice is the dual power - battery or corded. One thing to note is that the first one or two times it is used when new, it seems not to be working correctly until the mechanism fills with kibble. Same thing happens when the supply is allowed to drop to the point you can see the "paddles" in the mech. I am not sure the mechanism even works when there is no kibble. When I first assembled it, it made absolutely no noise when I tested it without kibble. So be sure to go through all the steps.
This food dispenser works great. The set up was easy. The app is simple enough for even an old lady like me to figure out. This has kept my cat from being a big fat pig and then throwing up. Easy to schedule, it took him less than a day to recognize that the beep meant he gets food. We love this!
This is a great automatic feeder. It's easy to set up and easy to use. The reason I gave 4 stars, is because my cat is too smart for his own good. He's figured out how to manipulate this thing. After it goes off and he eats the food it dispenses, he's not full yet cause he's a FAT FUDGE. He has learned to stick his paw up the hole the food dispenses from and wiggle his little beans around to make a few more pellets drop out. He does this until he's full, if I'm not watching him through the camera and yelling at him to stop being bad. I recommend the company fixes this issue cause I'm sure my fat cat isn't the only fur baby that's figured this out. I bought this trying to help him lose weight by giving him more food portions in smaller increments but he found the loop hole, as he always does.
This was a pain in the keester to sync to my phone, let me tell you.. First you have to figure out if you have the correct kind of WiFi signal. Then syncing it to the app was a hassle. It wouldn't auto connect via Bluetooth. It'll give you the option to manually connect, doing a whole song and dance holding up a QR code to the camera that will fail in connecting, even when you hear the *beep* that prompts it accepted the code. Finally I got mad and I just mashed all the buttons and held them down until something happened. A beep, and then a beep chime. Oh, boy something different is happening! Wait. Wait. Wait. Red and then blue flashing lights. And then it auto syncs to the app. Freaking terrible. Anyways, tiny kibble works best. There's a size chart sticker on the lid for you to check your kibble. The speaker is really loud so don't use it when your pet is devouring kibble. And the video feed has over exposed lighting, but good enough to watch your pets eyes as they munch.
