This product actually worked surprisingly well. It works just like the instructions say it tells you exactly how to read the molds' spores. And it told me that my house had mold and a lot, so it was very effective. And I recommend this product to anybody who suspects that they may have mold to get it, because it's very dangerous. It was very easy to use, although if you're doing it in the summer, it says to run your fan on your HVAC system. So I didn't have that option, but I just turned the heat on. Works very well and comes with instructions to help identify how bad your mold problem is. Did not include any swabs, just plates. You can also opt to send them in for analysis for an extra fee.
An excellent product and system for objective testing of moisture cocerns and follow up steps if they are needed. Highly recommended. Great product, website and design.
Immunolytics test plates are, by far, more professionally packaged and appear to be a higher quality than other mold test plates I bought at Lowes. Th box was sturdy (if you want to reuse to send plates to lab). The packaging and instructions are very simple and clear. I also had the option sending in the results for analysis. A swab was also included but I assume that would have to be sent in for the additional price. I used the plates to test the air as instructed for my upstairs and downstairs. I also had a small moldy area in my attic near the air conditioner. The condensation from a pipe dripped over the particle board floor and mold formed in an are less than 1/2 sq. ft. I also tested my carpet near my back door. I saved a plate for after I clean up the moldy area in the attic. There was minimal mold for my air tests. There were a few colonies at my back door. The test plate from the damp attic floor was visually, very gross with many big and small colonies! I simply looked up cleaning mold on youtube and used hydrogen peroxide and a stiff brush as directed. I tested the area 2 days after cleaning. I am waiting on the results. The carpet near the doorbell be cleaned with the rest of the carpets. It was a manageable number of colonies according to the the instructions. These plates really make testing for mold really easy and personal and seeing the results really got to me. I am definitely going to use these tests again, only with the lab analysis next time.
Very simple instructions and easy to use. No mess and fast results.
i liked how easy it was to use.it had clear instructions
I've done multiple mold tests with multiple brands and this one is the best by far. It comes with 5 agar plates. If you want to send them into the lab to be tested, each plate costs 36$. If you just want to send them to physically examine the appearance rather than actually testing them, you can pay $3/plate and they'll tell you what the molds look like. The lab results are pretty thorough and include pics of your plates, %23 of colonies, kinds of mold, symptoms/info on molds and grading scale of what's normal. I'm glad I picked this brand. Only thing is that you have to send plates in within 10 days of testing-also make sure you register tests online right away. It didn't come with the mailing label to send it in so you either have to get it off their site or get your own label
The test kit was easy to use but I would research your results before spending a gank of money on lab test. Use a search engine to find images that match your spores. then make a decision to spend more on labs. Lots of mold spores are just naturally present. We just needed to ID potentially dangerous ones. The stickers were rigid and didn't stay put. because they popped back up so be aware of this if sending off for analysis. Could become a jumbled mess of spores in a bag.
Seems ok There we're no Swabs in kit as indicated We will see how the tests progress in next 5-6 days
The description of the contents of the kit is not what you actually get. I expected there to be swabs but there are only plates. Also not enough envelopes to mail in more than one plate for testing. I needed the swabs much more than the plates. It was disappointing.
