I used to waste money buying soft margarine in a plastic tub. Then when the price kept rising on that I remembered that years before I had always used stick margarine. So I went back to that choice and haven't regretted it. The taste is just fine. It's great in the skillet and in baking as well as topping your bagel or toast. When you complete a stick there's only one small piece of paper for the trash rather than more plastic for the landfill or the ocean. I made a brilliant choice!

Margarine for Chex Mix and cookies

CarolR35 November 24, 2025

I only buy margarine for specific baking or cooking purposes because it has less water content than butter. That's why it makes the perfect Chex mix or crispy cookies. Butter makes softer cookies and it keeps the Chex mix too damp so you have to cook it longer and I've always used it that way I will not eat it on any other thing, but I will cook with it for those.

Better for the heart

Sandy September 14, 2025

I choose Imperial margarine over the store brand. When cooking meats and fish that I cook down into a gravy, Imperial margarine is my go to and baking. If it's a dish that I want gravy, after browning my meat or frying my fish, then cook down into a gravy I add margarine rather than butter, due to health issues. I like butter, but only use once in a blue moon. Butter hardens, which is bad for your artery. Imperial margarine makes gravy rich and works well with making my homemade Banana Bread and other dishes. Once in awhile I'll use Real butter, but majority of the time I use margarine and I prefer Imperial over the supermarket brand.

Great for Baking

Alberta December 20, 2025

I use this for all my baking even when recipe calls for butter only with no affect on results.HOWEVER if you want it for holiday baking...buy weeks ahead because Walmart never gets a clue as to stocking enough and it will not be available the week before a holiday..

Tasty

Morgan December 26, 2025

We liked that this is still a tasty, cost effective option for our family to use. We don’t feel like we lose the butter flavor when using this imperial spread. It melts perfectly and works well for my baking needs. We almost always have a box in our fridge.

My husband likes to use this margarine.Instead of real butter, because he thinks it's better for it is cholesterol.I personally prefer butter myself but I love my husband sure wish I could see that crown pop on his head like the commercial dunce did da

Best for baking

MidwestNana March 1, 2026

This is the product I use for baking with some of my old, time-tested family favorite recipes. While I use frequently use real butter in cooking, I find that some of my older recipes which were formulated for margarine do not have the same texture when made with butter. Imperial margarine produces a consistent result every time.

Incredible value and super convenient

Mark June 22, 2026

This spread has officially earned a permanent spot on my weekly shopping list because it is just so easy to use. The four stick box design makes storage completely neat and simple without taking up a ton of room in the refrigerator. It is easily my go to choice for spreading on bagels and melting onto corn. If you want a cost effective kitchen staple that stays dependable box after box you definitely need to try this one out.
