Great ground beef substitute in recipes and for when you're craving a burger but don't want to feel gross afterwards. If you do a burger with this, I'd still season it the way you'd season a normal burger but probably add a little more sauce/condiments as it's a slightly different flavor profile. Compared to other meat substitutes, however, I prefer this flavor! Regularly purchase in a household filled with meat eaters for a change of pace.
I really like this Impossible Foods Ground Beef (Meat from Plants). It's pretty good overall, and the quality is consistent. The price varies — when it's on the lower side, it's definitely worth it, but when it's higher, it feels a bit expensive. Still, sometimes it's hard to find good alternatives, so I get it when it's available. Normally, I use the Impossible Spicy Italian Sausage that comes in the plastic tube, but lately it's been out of stock, so I tried this ground beef version instead — and it's been a good backup! I buy the refrigerated kind and freeze it myself(although i prefer to get the frozen version for longevity and safety when transporting it or having it delivered. I honestly was not aware they had a non frozen version. I thought they all were frozen). I keep most of the packages frozen, and when I'm ready to use one, I thaw that package just enough so it's semi-frozen. That makes it easy to slice into thin pieces (about 5–10 mm thick) and cook only what I need. To prepare it, I put the slices in a microwave-safe bowl or in a microwavable plastic grill-style dish with a steam cover. I cook them in the microwave until they reach the texture and doneness I like. They turn out great and are perfect for small burritos made with zero-carb mini tortillas and guacamole — an easy, keto-friendly meal that takes only a few minutes. For spice, I use spicy guacamole or sprinkle on some cayenne pepper. It would be great if Impossible made a spicy Italian sausage version of this ground beef too! You can also melt vegan cheese on top for a cheesy, satisfying version. Overall, it's a tasty, flexible, and convenient plant-based option — perfect for quick microwave meals and low-carb diets, especially when your favorite version is out of stock.
Taste and texture are great. Nutritional value is excellent for vegetarians. 19g protein/4 oz, 130% DV Vitamin B12, 700mg potassium, 40% DV zinc, 0 cholesterol. Per ounce this isn't more expensive than Morningstar patties. Highly recommended *****
i cook vegan meals for people and i swear they cant tell the difference in my lasagna from real ground beef i had to literally keep the wrapper to show them that it was vegan.
This is our favorite brand of plant based meat. My husband has been vegetarian for almost 11 years so plant based products have come a long way with so many more options. This is by far our favorite brand and we hope you continue to provide it!
This is probably the best plant based ground beef you can buy! Super tasty and amazing for anyone who wants a meat-like taste and texture in your foods without having to actually eat meat!
I love this meat alternative and I always use it to make a bolognese sauce with pasta. The taste is totally going to depend on your seasonings and the texture is fantastic
Since cutting out meat 6 years ago from my diet, I have missed a few things. One thing is a hamburger with beef. I was finally able to replicate this using one package of Impossible Meat. It actually browns like real meat which is impressive and doesnt have that bitter aftertaste. The texture and flavor are so much like beef, it's crazy! I get asked often if miss eating meat. Not at all now, and especially not these days with products like this. It tastes like the real thing to me. I love it, you should try if you havent yet. You won't regret it.
Is ir as good as real meat, close enough about for me, but at least they didn't have to shoot a cow in the head to provide it.
My favorite splurge meal was an Impossible Burger with air-fried tator tots. I was only eating this once a month and kept it frozen. Then my doctor told me that my cholesterol was dangerously high!!! This was while also eating healthy foods on a regular basis - kale, spinach, apples, avocado . . . There is loads of saturated fat in this product - just as bad as a regular fast food burger with cheese. I miss it a lot, but not enough to have a heart attack!
