I had a smaller mocka pot but it just wasn't big enough. This one is perfect! It makes a good size strong cup of coffee! I bought a Nespresso machine but honestly I use this more often. It just makes such a perfect cup of coffee. Of course you have to know how to use one but once you learn it's so easy!
My only regret is that I didn't buy a bigger one. I bought the 6 cup stovetop coffee maker to try and see if Id like it. I wish I would have gotten a bigger one! I'm sick of plastic coffee makers. Even the baskets to the coffee makers are plastic and most you can't get a stainless steel basket/filter for them so you are drinking heated up plastic. This coffee maker has been a game changer. Just get the bigger size! You won't regret it.
i'm an amateur and this thing gives me a hard time! but patience is worth it. warm water, slightly under the valve. a few T of grounds, screw tight. medium low heat, keep the lid open to watch. reduce heat when it's bubbling. pour over sweetened condensed milk! lovely
I have owned an Imusa stovetop coffee maker before. The classic version, and while it always delivered that bold, authentic espresso flavor, this new stainless steel model feels like a true upgrade. The design is more refined and modern, with a polished, elegant finish that instantly stands out on the stove. It's like Imusa took everything that worked with their classic pot and gave it a sleek makeover. Function-wise, it brews beautifully. The espresso comes out rich, smooth, and aromatic...that strong, velvety kind of coffee that fills the kitchen with café vibes. I also appreciate how sturdy and well-balanced the build feels. It heats evenly, cleans up easily, and has a durable, quality feel that suggests it'll last. If you're a fan of the traditional moka pot but want something that looks as good as it performs, this Imusa upgrade is definitely worth it. A perfect mix of nostalgia and modern flair! I received free product in exchange for my review.
I wish I could say "maybe," rather than "no." I was misled into thinking that it would make eight cups of coffee. Wrong. It makes just under eight ounces, which is 56 ounces LESS THAN eight cups. It's an espresso coffee maker, not a regular coffee maker. The sludge from the coffee grounds flows into the upper chamber as well, so you get a gross taste. Please, whoever sells this device, you need to learn how to write correctly in English. There are sixteen ounces in a cup. The device makes only 8 ounces of coffee, not 64 ounces.
the outer rims are a bit on the sharp side. Not sharp enough to cut you on contact but I do tend to slow down when I wash it. Other than that, I don't see any other reason this doesn't perform as well as any other Moka pot brand out there.
I got the second one to work after returning my first one for having a hairline crack in the metal that caused a drop-by-drop continuous leak. The second one had a tiny leak through the nut holding the safety valve, and IMUSA customer service told me the valve just screws in metal-to-metal, with no washer, O-ring, etc. I fixed it with a tiny bit of Teflon tape around the threads, small enough that the tape is now invisible. It makes a very tasty cup of coffee, though you're supposed to use the full amount of water every time and fill up the coffee holder, even if you only want a bit of espresso for yourself. I haven't experimented with trying to make a smaller quantity. I've used both light and medium roasts, and next I'll be buying some espresso-roast coffee in bulk and grinding it at the store using the setting recommended in the instructions. Some of the reviews downgraded it for claiming 6 cups, when it's a much smaller amount of coffee. The thing is, a "cup" of espresso is a lot smaller than a plain cup of coffee, but it's a lot stronger, because it's made using a lot more ground coffee and uses a different method. I'd recommend it for the low price (about $15) and finally getting one that works all right and makes a good pot of espresso. If you have more money than time, and don't want to save money if you have to deal with returns and DIY repairs, get a better-known brand, though even the Bialetti moka pots now seem to be often made in Asia, and also get their share of negative reviews for build quality.
Too big for me. I ordered 3cups online and selected no replacements. This is what they delivered. Of course, It takes more Bustelo just to pack it tight and makes way more than I can drink alone. So, I took it as a sign from above to stop drinking coffee. I wish Walmart made the return process easier. As someone who has not been in the best of health this great product is useless to me until I have 8 adults here looking for fresh coffee.
Poorly Manufactured. Item came with metal shavings and slivers inside. Threading didn't work well to attach top to base and it leaked water and couldn't complete a brew
Defective from the factory. Safety valve leaked resulting in no pressure to move water through the ground coffee and no coffee. Disappointing lack of customer service from IMUSA, Great customer service from Walmart with a prompt refund.
