Thanks to BzzAgent I was able to try the Imusa Bean Masher for free! I've never used a bean masher before so I didn't know at all what to expect but it worked better than I thought. So far I've used it to make refried beans & mashed potatoes. I like that the Imusa Bean Masher left my refried beans semi-chunky. It didn't take much to get them to the consistency I wanted. I think because of the ease of use you could tailor so many things to the perfect consistency. The handle is easy to grip & doesn't leave splinters. I definitely recommend this gadget to you if you spend time in your kitchen.
I got the product for free in exchange for writing this review. I did enjoy using this bean masher as it is a good size and mashes the beans very well. The holes allow for enough mashed beans to go through which allows for the beans to be more evenly mashed. It feels very durable. I will recommend this to anyone considering this purchase.
I received the IMUSA Bean Masher as a free product to sample. The craftsmanship of the product is superb. The handle is a smooth wood; and the mashed is made of all metal. We used it to mash beans for our tacos. We mashed them so we could use them as a paste on our shells. It was very sturdy and easy to use. I would definitely recommend this product to add to your kitchen essentials collection.
A bean masher isn't the most exciting thing to write about even though the imusa masher that I was given to review has led an exciting "life". Right out of the box my children decided to put it to work. This masher has survived not just beans and potatoes but sword fights and other shenanigans as well. It's definitely sturdy
As a non-cook I realize the importance of quality ingredients & the right tools. As a Hispanic female that point was hammered home constantly by my mother & her mother before her. And having a bean masher is key to real deal frijoles. This fits nicely in my hand, doesn't tire me out completely, & gets the job done. I do appreciate that the band is pressed into the masher, not glued on like my one prior.
I've always used a hand mixer for my mashed potatoes, but I found myself in a pinch and didn't want to spend much on an alternative, so I decided to try this masher. Considering the price, I didn't have high expectations, but to my surprise, the quality exceeded them. I honestly thought the price was a mistake, but it's still listed at the same amount. I will note, however, that if you're looking to mash a larger volume, this masher might be a bit small for that quantity. I used it to make enough for two servings, with one serving left over.
This is a great tool for mashing beans, potatoes or anything else that needs smashing. It's durable with its wood and stainless steel materials, and makes it easy to get a smooth texture. It's also very affordable so it's a great value.
I bought two, one for myself and one for my friend. She loved her and so do I. I've used this to mash the fruit when I make homemade jam and it works great.
I love making black bean/veggie burgers and usually use a fork to mash it, this saves a ton of time and effort. It was the easiest to use with a rocking motion. You could probably also use this for mixing together some other ingredients. This product was sent for free and I'm happy to have it but I think it depends on how often you'd use it and how creative you would be with figuring out other uses on whether or not it makes sense to buy.
I enjoyed how light weight the bean masher was and it was super easy to clean, that was my favorite part! The beans would just run off, they didn't get stuck. My forearm is a little sore the day after using, not sure if I wasn't mashing correctly or just going extra hard because I was excited to try it out. I'll definitely use it again, next time for making mashed potatoes.
