Owned first Insinkerator Badger for 20 Years. Great product. Relatively easy to install. Make sure fully turn the disposal to lock in secure. I used channel lock plier gently to fully turn to click sound.
It's pretty quiet. I almost bought the more expensive one because on the box it stated that it's the quietest one on the market. I'll happy I chose this one. Easy install and affordable. I don't put a lot of down there but when I do it does a great job
Product is Excellent. Works great and not too noisy.
Bought and installed this about a month ago. Installation was pretty straightforward and the unit has work very well.
Our old garbage disposal stopped working and we bought this one. It is so quiet and does such a great job! Will buy again! Thanks!
Very happy. I installed it myself and was easy. Only thing I didn't like was the cord. You need to cut out the existing cord to reuse or purchase a new one. Saw this in utube. Unit works well
Purchased a couple of months ago. This thing will chew spoons! Nice looking sink mount with Insinkerator name on it. I had it put in in 1 hour. The hardest part was holding it up to mount it into the screw mount. Great disposal!
Unit seems to work well, but the strange way the splash guard is set up is a complete fail in my opinion. It doesn't block noise like the splash guard in my old unit did and it allows fairly large items, such as a metal water bottle top, to drop down into the blade area requiring me to constantly retrieve items.
Purchased new and replaced old disposal unit due leaking casting after only 5 years of light home use. The impeller casting metal developed small pinhole leaks and slowly leaked water destroyed my under sink cabinet flooring.
During the selection process I selected a large capacity, top of the line garbage disposal. Instead my builder installed a Badger 5XP. I suspect it was the cheapest option. I am very disappointed. It clogs with minimal scraps, i.e. small amount of potato or carrot peelings. In addition, the baffle is not removable UNLESS YOU DISASSEMBLE the entire disposal unit. Others have complained about this very bad design made worse by a manual that says it is removable on page 2! This is VERY MISLEADING especially compared to other designs on the market where the baffle is easily removed without disassembly. AT LEAST add an asterisk on page 2 with a footnote indicating the baffle is only removable by disassembling the entire unit so customers are not mislead. I cannot comment on "ease of installation" as a contractor installed the unit so only rated a "3." Innovation is ranked "1" due to very poor baffle design.
