Helpful during cold snap
my house water supply is partially above ground in an old well house. Monitoring the temp during winter is vitally important to prevent frozen / broke pipes. This thermostat lets me monitor the temperature in the well house without having to bundle up during sub-zero weather.

Good for the money
sometime temperature is within 1 degree, othertimes 5 degrees off. Night time seems to be more accurate. i didn't have it in the sun so don't know why the difference.

it shows that it has an orange backlight I assumed it was on all the time but it is not you have to push a button and it's good for like 30 seconds it's hard to see without the backlight
