I picked up this thermometer mainly for longer cooks on my smoker, and after using it for a few BBQ sessions I can say it's been a really helpful tool.
The first thing I tried it on was a small brisket flat. Setup was easy. Charge the probe in the base, download the app, and connect it. Once everything was paired, I inserted the probe into the brisket and started the cook. What I liked right away was being able to check temperatures from my phone instead of constantly walking out to the smoker.
The probe tracks both internal meat temperature and the ambient temperature in the smoker, which helped me keep an eye on how stable the cook chamber was. The readings updated quickly and seemed very accurate when I compared them with another thermometer I already had.
The WiFi monitoring is probably my favorite feature. I could go inside, prep sides, or relax without worrying about missing a temperature change. The app sends alerts when the meat is getting close to the target temp, which made it easier to time everything without babysitting the grill.
Battery life has been solid too. One charge lasted through a long cook without any issues.
Pros:
Very accurate readings (I cross-checked with another thermometer and it was right on)
WiFi Bluetooth connectivity lets you monitor cooks from anywhere in the house or on the go
Multiple sensors in the probe track both meat temp and smoker temp
Great for long cooks like brisket, pork shoulder, or ribs
Rechargeable probe with good battery life
Easy to clean and feels well built
Cons:
Wireless probes can take a moment to stabilize when first inserted into cold meat
You still need to keep the base reasonably close for the most reliable connection
Overall:
After using it for a few cooks, this thermometer has become something I reach for whenever I'm smoking meat. Being able to monitor everything from my phone without hovering over the grill makes BBQ a lot more relaxing.
In terms of accuracy, convenience, and remote monitoring, it's a really solid option.
