This is a very nice simple and easy to tou thermometer which is especially nice.If you are into smoking meats. The extra long probe accommodates large pieces. Having this, this is this takes the guesswork out of it, and it keeps you from interrupting the consistency of your heat because there is no need to continually open and close the lid to check the internal temperature. The box is sturdy enough to provide reusable safe storage. The instruction manual is very simple to understand. The unit itself is small enough that it won't take up a whole lot of drawer or cupboard space even in the box. This is a great value for the price.

Stand alone in will monitor Ambient and food temperatures. That's what I want it to do. The App is to invasive for me. I don't want to sign in or supply so much information just to cook. No presets can be accessed without the downloading the App. If that is acceptable than it is easy and handy.

Really cool advanced thermometer, but a bit more than I wanted and the basic thermometer function was a bit lacking. 1st- if you are primarily looking for a leave in meat thermometer for your grill or oven this is amazing. The probe snaps into the main controller for charging from regular aaa batteries included (but mine were dead upon arrival.) LCD display reads out battery strength as well as meat and ambient temperature. For meat, it needs to be a pretty large chunk to cover the probe sufficiently for accurate temperature readings. There is also an app available for your smartphone to save you from dragging along the main charger and display base- even though it is a very cool design. Everything works well- except- I most needed a thermometer that I could just grab and stick in meats, sauces or anything really for a quick read like my trusty old analog dial one. Trying to use this new remote probe for that is a bit awkward and it takes quite awhile for the probe to get up to the full temperature. I'll keep this for roasts and the like and pick up a basic dial style for all my other regular daily uses.

I haven't actually used it but when you see the digits when it's turning on the temp I tested it and the temp seemed too be accurate. There's a magnet on the back so you can store it on your fridge. Perfect for when you wanna smoke something.

It was 103° outside and I used it inside a 6lb leg of lamb on a rotisserie, so the ambient temp was 190°° , the probe was spot on, the lamb cooked to exactly the temp I set.

I can't download the app to use it but it's easy to turn on and the ambient temp goes up to 572. You can use it when you smoke or grill or even in the oven. The screen is easy to read and turning on is easy. I just wish I could get the app to download so I can actually test it out
