Ive bought Obd II that does not work eith my vehicle, this one does everything I need & for the price is exceptional!!
Helped me find the issue with the EGR valve right away. Should have bought it weeks ago instead of doing repair by replacement parts.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scanner requires connection cable in some cases. Product is powered by two AA batteries. Power on and testing are simple steps to be capable of pulling codes to identify any issues with the vehicle. Manual is well documented, identifies overall operation steps and interpretation of codes displays by the scanner. Scanner worked as expected and required.
Needed for earlier Fords
This thing saved me money in one day. First this is not for modern vehicles. This is one is for most Ford and Mercury products built prior to 1996. A few 1995s have ODBII. Most brand name parts stores do not have code readers for vehicles prior to 1996. If you don't have this you have to pay a shop to read the codes for you or struggle with beeps or flashes. You should purchase the extension cable as well. It cost as much as the unit but you can sit in the vehicle while testing. Some vehicles will require a quick accelerator quick push to the floor during testing. Without the cable you will need a helper to tell you when to do the pedal push. Quickly to the person witn the bad connector. Contact the company and have them replace under warranty.
Hooked up easy. Easy to use..
Using it with my mom's old 95 ford. Now Im needing to find one for a old 97 Subaru legacy and a 91 mazda protege. When you need to really get to work on an older car you usually are better off doing it yourself if you have the right gear.
Worked great!
Got the code reader out of the box and it looked great. Hooked it up to the connectors and the single prong that connects to the individual connector slips down into the code reader. You then have to pull the prong back up with needle nose pliers only to have it drop back down again when you try connecting it so you can get a reading. Maybe I got a bad reader but worth looking into the rest of them.
Did not work as expected prongs pushed in as soon as I booked it up the connector I will be sending back for refund
