This fall I raised several monarch butterflies. Watching the caterpillars eat milkweed, grow, make a chrysalis and emerge into a butterfly was very rewarding to me as an adult, I imagine many nature lovers would agree with me. I ordered one for a friend who wants to watch the miraculous change from a caterpillar to an adult. Fascinating.

It did exactly what you said it would do. My granddaughter was thrilled, she loves butterflies All 10 butterflies made it. The instructions were good and all in all, a very rewarding experience.

We bought this for our granddaughter when she was 2 and she enjoyed it immensely. Now that she is six and really into butterflies, we bought it again. Great product!

This has been SO fun and engaging for my child. I actually had caterpillars from Hearthsong as a child myself 30 years ago, and remember it vividly. Overall I am very happy with the product. It is a little misleading that the caterpillars are shipped separately and you have to pay additional shipping and handling. So it ended up being more expensive than I wanted. Also didn't include the feeding station that would have been nice. 4 out of the 5 caterpillars lived. My grandkids loved it!!! Probably one of the best gifts I've ever purchased. Will buy more caterpillars and maybe ladybugs to hatch. Fun gift!
