Installed in remodeled kitchen

Sharonyk February 22, 2022

We've had insinkerator products before and have been happy with the performance. Our contractor was able to lead the Reverse Osmosis system into into the unit and it is working well. I did not comment on the ease or delivery because the remodel contractor did the work and did not comment about any installation matters. We have been using the new unit for about 2 months now and all is running well.

Functions lacking as a replacement

Imrewired June 2, 2020

This is my 3rd Insinkerator brand faucet in 20 years. I purchased it as a replacement last fall when the tank on my last one started leaking. On a whim I ordered the Wave to replace my Indulge, not realizing the Wave does not have a swivel spout nor does the cold lever stay on. I was disappointed but thought I could live with it but the spigot gets in the way of everything when I'm cooking or washing dishes. On top of that a while ago the cold lever started sticking, and now the hot is as well. I would love to replace it with the Indulge but I've had it just over 6 months so it's a lot to spend to replace something almost new, but now that the handles are sticking I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I think the product information and Specifications could be improved on to point out the difference between models, as I now realize it only says if it DOES swivel and not if it DOESN'T. Since I did not realize they did not all come with that function I was unaware it was lacking until after it was installed. I use it all day long for me it has become indispensable so I hope to find a solution!!

Why did I wait?

Leftcoastchef June 15, 2022

This is our second insinkerator under sink water heater - the first one, at a different house, just heats water and is terrific and going strong after a couple of years, and this recent one I bought with hot and regular filtered water, is even better. After years of happiness with your no nonsense garbage disposals, I looked at other brands for hot water on demand but came back to you. It is so worth it! Why did I wait to buy? Cost, I suppose. I use this for everything - pots of hot water for cooking vegetables, a way to kick start my pressure cooker, tea and tisanes, a quick way to juggle the right temperature for proofing yeast, it's all good. I'm not terrifically excited about paying for each replacement filter but they are SO much cheaper than the ones for the previous filtered water AND I don't need to hire someone to change the fiddly filter. For the win, I get absolutely unlimited hot water. I just gave away my electric kettle.

Functionality has been lost on this newest model

danskeller10 June 22, 2017

This is the third Insinkerator hot/cold dispenser I have purchased. The previous 2 have died after about 5 years of use. The dispenser on the newest model has lost functionality that I use frequently. First off, the dispenser head no longer swivels. The ability to turn head away from the sink prevented me from hitting/catching it when I was working with large pots. The other feature that was lost was the ability to push have the cold water lead stay open. On my previous 2 dispensers, pushing the cold handle all the way back open the cold water line into a continuous flow. This new dispenser does not allow that. So when I am filling a 1 gallon container, which needs 2 hands, I cannot do that because I have to keep one hand on the handle. I still like my hot water dispenser, but Insinkerator should bring back these two options to make their dispenser more user friendly.

Love the product. Works well, but in less than two years, The arm snapped off on the hot water side. Now I have to scramble to find a replacement part and pay a handyman to install it.

It is fine... tie will tell for sure.

anonymous May 15, 2025

Time will tell for sure; however, after only a couple of weeks there have been probably 4 or 5 times that I have had to jiggle the hot water lever to stop constant dripping. The main thing I do not like is you have to hold the levers (both cold and hot) while it dispenses water. I would like to just put a water pitcher underneath and do something else for a minute. I loved my Franke that I had for years and years until it had to be replaced for reason that had nothing to do with the faucet.

Poor faucet design.

Gmash1 January 16, 2025

I really like the hot and cold water part but the faucet really sucks. It doesn't extend far enough into the sink which makes it very difficult to fill pitchers and even coffee cups. It's short. And it doesn't have an always on for the cold side. You will Have to stand there and hold it for a large pot or a pitcher. If you buy this think about finding different faucets.

HW dispenser handle failed

ramgolf December 23, 2016

The performance of filtration and hot water heater was good during the 3 1/2 years of use. The review was fair due to the failure of the HW dispenser handle after only 3 1/2 years (warranty is 3 years). Dispenser handle broke at the base. Product description uses the generic term "metal" as material. We plan to replace it with an insinkerator dispenser that is not part of a HW/CW dispenser system. The product description for the dispensers sold separately shows metal as brass, so my expectation is it will be a higher quality product than dispenser sold as part of a system. Dispenser system was installed by plumber as part of kitchen remodel so installation and delivery ratings are non-applicable and only shown because required.
