InSinkErator Badger 1, 1/3 HP Continuous Feed Kitchen Garbage Disposal, Badger Series

My old Badger 5 rusted and leaked after many years of good service. I read the recommendations on which disposal I needed and went with the Badger 100. It was extremely easy to install except for replacing the power cord. I used the old cord and installed it in the new disposal. It works well, it is quiet and I'm extremely happy. Yes I would recommend it.

The original InSinkErator 1 Badger was purchased, came with a 1 year warranty and installed 5 1/2 years ago. It provided me with excellent results during it's lifetime but finally needed to be replaced. I special ordered a duplicate at Walmart's very fair price of $75.06. I'm very happy with it, it runs smoothly and is fairly quiet. I would recommend it to my family and friends.

It's a garbage disposal.. it does its job.

Exactly what I ordered, and arrived timely and in perfect condition

Delivery was perfect

The price was incredible. I'd give 5 stars to Jet because they shipped it out fast. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's not quietest or smoothest disposal. But it works great. The other one I had lasted 9 years, but they use cheap metal inside, and that rusts and water gets into the motor - isn't that a great design . But for the price I'm very satisfied. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a nice and easy retrofit to a failed Badger 1 that came with the house I purchased 6 years ago. It just made a humming noise and motor would not engage so I assumed the windings gave out on the original unit. This was a direct replacement install and it went in easily and no problems with the hook up. There were no apparent changes to the design from the one that came with the house. The locking mechanism to the existing sink was identical so not problems attaching it to the sink and the pipe fittings were exactly the same and there were no issues there in the connection to the drain line or the dishwasher drain hose. I had one hic-up being my own fault and did not realize until I rechecked the instructions that the dishwasher drain line has a plug in it that you must knock out with a screw driver and hammer. Caused the dishwasher to back up and not drain so that was the only issue. It would be nice if they would put a tag on that connection point noting that it is plugged and you need to knock it out if you plan to connect to a dishwasher. Other than that, it works great. Oh and a note about the description... it says it's gray but this one was definitely black.

I've had this in my brand new home for 2 years. It has jammed a 3 times and I have had to unlock it. I barely use it. Its locked now and there is nothing in there. I unlock it, turn it on, and sounds like a bunch of metal is in there. But there is nothing there. I've show a flashlight down to see if im missing something and there is nothing there. This disposal should not go out in 2 years with barely any use. I am disappointed. Badger 1-92A

Got this installed with new home 20 months ago and its leaking already. Online it shows it has 2 year warranty but looks like only for units manufactured after April 2025. Bad product, wouldn't recommend.

Before you purchase this brand and model, you may want to check online for Class Action Suit. Suit sights corrosion related issues that cause shaft seal failure outside warranty period. Corrosion due to lack of stainless steel grinder components in design, which many other brands at lower rice point include. My previous disposal was identical brand and model, which failed due to catastrophic leak from bottom of unit. You may also want to take note that original manufacturer warranty was five years, which has now been reduced to one to two years.
